Actually, what many refer to as the "Old Testament" is said to have been canonized at various times. An interesting discussion can be found at Wikipedia about canonization of the Hebrew scriptures. In part, it states, "Evidence suggests that the process of canonization occurred between 200 BC and 200 AD, and a popular position is that the Torah was canonized c. 400 BC, the Prophets c. 200 BC, and the Writings c. 100 AD[4] perhaps at a hypothetical Council of Jamnia—however, this position is increasingly criticised by modern scholars.[5][6][7][8][9][10] According to Marc Zvi Brettler, the Jewish scriptures outside the Torah and the Prophets were fluid, with different groups seeing authority in different books."
There are variances, and there are mentions in the Hebrew scriptures as to certain books that have not been preserved.

When Jesus was on earth he did say he was one with the Father. Does that mean he was equal to the Father when he was on the earth?

Yes, however the same could be said for all of us.
At the highest level, everything is one with God.
No. That would be like me saying that your Soul is equal to your Body.

Apparently, folks have no idea in the world that the Trinity is right there in Genesis. And no, I am not talking about 'Elohim' being plural or whatever.
Before I show you, let us go over the basics...
The Trinity is easiest to understand as:
Thus, when Jesus is down here, he is a 3D representation, manifestation, representative, symbol of God's Soul, the Word.
When Jesus goes back to the highest level, i.e., the Logos and Consuming Fire, he *merges* with it. Again, Jesus is symbolic of God's Soul.
The 'dust of the ground' is symbolic of Nucleobases (A, C, G, T, U). Specifically, Gene Sequences.
God took Gene Sequences and formed a Genome. Adam's Genome.
Said Genome is in a sort of 'deep sleep'. It needs a Spirit to be truly alive. Thus, God breathed Adam's Spirit into the Genome Sequence and formed a Soul that is alive, i.e., a Living Soul.
Now we have:
The two trees determined which 'Body Style' Adam would receive. He chose the corrupt Body we have now.
Adam is now a Trinity:

Where does the Son reside? In the bosom of the Father...
John 1:18 - "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."
It is *literal*. Think Abraham's Bosom. Abraham is the perfect archetype for the Father in Heaven.
The Son resides literally inside...
Hebrews 7:9-10 - "And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him."
Jesus is Abraham's Seed... as in Sperm...
Galatians 3:16 - "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ."
Seed is DNA. DNA is a Genome Sequence. It is the Soul made flesh.
Same thing...
Why reside in the bosom? The Bosom is where the Tables of the Heart is...
2 Corinthians 3:3 - "Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart."
'Tables of the Heart' is symbolic of where the Genome Sequence, the Soul, is stored. A new Genome Sequence will be written to eliminate 'bad behavior'. It is God Eugenics...
Psalms 37:31 - "The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide."
The New Covenant is literally Eugenics...
Hebrews 8:10 - For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Heart and Soul.

Most do not realize that Jesus is his own Father because Jesus conceived himself. That is how it works when incarnating from the Highest to Earth.
It is called Kenosis. It would be as if a man down here turned himself into a Sperm and inseminated himself into the womb of his wife. He is his own Father. He is his own Son. His wife would also be his mother.
This is also how the Sons of God 'came into' the Daughters of Men. They 'left their first estate', i.e., they left their Body behind and inseminated themselves. The 'wives' they took were also their mothers.

A 25:25 in this video, Rabbi Ted Falcon explains that Adam and the Woman were clothed with the skin and flesh we have now...
Job mentions it here...
Job 10:11 - "Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews."
Again, 'naked' means no Body.
