The Trump Presidency: What Will it be Remembered as?

That's what makes predictions so dubious.
A president with no political experience will likely experience more changes in views than an experienced one.
We saw this to a lesser extent with Obama, a Prez with no executive experience in any area.
Notice how he 'evolved', eg, kept the wars going, became pro-gay marriage.
None of which changes the fact that Trump pretty much promises to be a disaster. He may be lying, I suppose. It would not be the first time.

Throughout American History there have been memorable events we remember by there unique names.

The American Revolution
The Louisiana Purchase
The Gold Rush
The Civil War
WW I
The Dust Bowl
WW II
The Vietnam War
9-11
And now we're about to get a President of unrivaled ineptitude, lack of ethics, and unmatched ego. It's obvious, to me at least, that this Presidency will devolve into a mess like no other---can one hope for an early resignation or impeachment? In any case, it will be remembered like no other Presidency in American history. So what should it be called?

The Great Fiasco

America's Implosion

The Political Evisceration of America

The Rape of the Presidency

Not so good? Yeah, I agree. So what do you think it should be called?

I think it way premature to start naming this.
I fully expect Trump to continue being what he has been for the last 50 years. I therefore expect disasters so large they will define the presidency. Nonsense like the Wall, and other campaign promises broken, will fade into the past as Trump creates yet unimagined issues.
When Bush took office he was under similar circumstances. Lost the people's vote, but had a majority in every branch of government. At the time he was being inaugurated, who would have predicted the Iraq Invasion or The Republican Recession?

I think that the Trump Legacy will be yet more disastrous for the country and the defining issues yet to suffer through. They will develop names, though until they happen we can't name them or even contemplate naming them.

You expect disaster without even knowing what he'll do?
Yes.
You like to talk about Trump as though he just appeared in a cloud of sulfur fumes. He didn't, he is 70. He has a track record. He might surprise everybody, but he has made a lot of promises I despise. So, no matter what he does, he will be hated and thwarted by someone.

If he builds his signature Wall, he will be hated by a majority of the country. If he doesn't, he will be hated by his supporters. He has sown divisiveness and lies and will reap his harvest, along with the rest of us.

I hope he's remembered as The Great Surprise and that he really does a great job.
I don't think he will, but that is what I sincerely hope for.

......The Republican Recession?
This claim illustrates how partisans always see the other side as the cause of all
wrong, & never blame their own. Tis best to divorce oneself from such attachments.
Then one can see all the fingers in the pie.

He lacks a track record in politics though.
While dishonesty, subterfuge & 'evolution' are rife in politics, his will be less stable than a
Hillary, who is more practiced & artful. So while each said terrible things, hers appeared
more likely to become policy because of more considered intent behind them.

My predictions.....
1) Posters who say he will be a miserable failure will see all things as proving them right.
2) Posters who say he will be great will see all things as proving them right.

I give this meme 6/10. BUT! I will say the movie in reference (American History X) is very good.

American History X was a cleaned up American PC version of the original Australian filme " Romper Stomper", the crowds loved it! To me it seemed a cheap ripoff :

Obama's legacy: If you like your plan, you can keep it---If you like your doctor you can keep him---the cost will go down.

This is why I have always advocated at least a summary knowledge of our biological makeup and the simple cures.

Obama's Legacy will have more to do with pulling the US economy out of the downward spiral it was in at the time of his election, despite a Congress that has been determined to keep making things worse for 6 of his 8 years in office.

Ever wonder why recovery was so long & slow?
Obama also played his own role in government's efforts which inhibit recovery & encourage risky lending.
- Preventing Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac from renegotiating troubled loans.
- Urging commercial lenders to foreclose upon troubled loans rather than renew or renegotiate.
- His utterly useless homeowner assistance program.
- Re-upping of subsidized highly leveraged real estate borrowing.
