So, I'll call it getting infected with the Trump virus...meaning falling prey to the spirit of hero-worship of someone who isn't to be worshipped and isn't "heroic" by Christlike standards. I posted pics of him as a superhero or messiah, and thought it was funny.
If indeed good people are in agony over this man, there is nothing funny about that.
I find some of his qualities and his rise to power truly miraculous or so it seemed. He does seem to defend some of the things I cherish, for I'm quite against the secular leftist agenda, and I hate politically correct double-standards, which he takes quite the stand against.
I also see a threat coming from Islam that wasn't dealt with under Obama who always called it a Religion of peace, when it is so easy to prove Obama is full of ****!
How much I despised Islam, secularism, and political correctness, totally Trumped other virtues I cherish like honesty, humility, and charity.
If Trump would simply admit his mistakes, say "I was wrong", and show signs that he is a compassionate, humble person, I'd not feel the sudden guilt I feel for so radically defending him. If I made you sick, I understand why. I make myself sick!
That is a problem of mine. Admitting my faults and mistakes is easy. Making up my mind on these issues just isn't easy, because I don't like people to suffer, while at the same time believing Islam and political correctness are both causing an enormous amount of misery, fear, injustice, and misogyny. If indeed Trump is causing a lot of heartache, fear, and agony to people who deserve better than that, I shouldn't be treating him like a Messiah, and will be held accountable for it on judgment day.
I can't promise you that I won't go right back to the same error. I just for now have had a change of heart!
God help us all! God help Trump to be his instrument for the greater good of America and the world. God help him be honest and compassionate, as well as firm in keeping the wolves out of the sheepfold!
