I'm cherokee (and german and sicilian ;) )
I try to follow Cherokee ways as much as possible, but I have to admit I'm very influenced by the local nations such as the Abanaki, Micmack and so on.

Very cool, I myself am part cherokee and part cashada...A lot of my natural insight into things I attribute to my heritage. The indians had a great deal of understanding of God. More so than those who called them heathens...

well, part of that is the inseperable nature of Native American Religion and Culture.
But having said that my ancestors wern't saints.
The Cherokee actually converted to a large degree to Christianity quite early on... they were predominantly Christian by the time of the "trail of tears" and still are to this day.
The Cherokee National anthem is actually "Amazing Grace" which is very beautiful in Cherokee.

Is there somewhere to download it from to hear it...That is sad about the conversion. Nothing use to get under mind skin quicker than missionaries. I can remember sitting at home one day with a bunch of christian friends watching tv. A program on the discovery channel came on about a tribe that had been discovered almost untouched by the outside world. I believe it was in south america. This was in the early 90's. Anyway, I was sitting there watching this program in awe oh how these people culture was still unique and undesturbed. Then about halfway into it, It went like this: This culture untouched by civilized man now has promise and hope, now that the christian missionaries have come to help bring education and religion. I swear, its one of those moments in time where if i had a brick in my hand, i would have been out buying another tv.
