I would like to cite Isaiah 14:12 Which in the ESV calls Satan "Day Star, Son of Dawn"

Of course that is a choice to transliterate 'Satan' instead of translating it which hides the meaning unfortunately from readers. It ought to have a footnote that points out the word is not translated. It is a reason not to like the ESV.

I find splitting hairs to be of little use regarding God's Word. Even experts will disagree on translation, and I'm a no expert. Rather than battle over the Word, we should be compelled to let the Word fight our battles.

I respectfully disagree with the fact that they are unrelated. In fact, some Catholic priests feel the Vatican has been taken over by Jesuits that have manipulated their doctrine wholly and intentionally towards Luciferian Doctrine. This was around the 1950's according to testimony of William Guy Clark, who's contacts in the Vatican reached out to him for help in the matter, and subsequently we have been plagued by truly abhorrent happenings in the church by priests and higher ups.

Lucifer is a Latin word. Anyone using it is basing the word on the Latin bible.

Thank you for pointing that out as it makes it obvious I was clearly missing the point I wished to make.

"Helel" is the Hebrew word used in Isaiah and has a translation of "light bearer" and "shining one."

"Phosphoros" is the Greek word used in Revelation and means both "bringer of light", and "morning star."

Lucifer as an adjective can mean "bringer of light" and "morning star" as a noun. It seems understandable when translating both these passages to Latin, this word was used in both places.

That's a good question. I don't think I can give you the specific answer, but I think you were probably close when you mentioned context clues.

In several places, including Ezekiel 28, Genesis 6, and many others, Satan is either described as adorned with shiny stones and settings, or words are used that can be translated as "shiny" in some way referencing him. Only in Revelation 22 do I know of Christ mentioned as the Bright Morning Star, but I know there are references to him being "The Light Of the World", John 8:12.

I think early translators were taking words specifically, without including later contextual clues, and using the Latin word that best fit the translation. That is likely why we have the same descriptor used for both Satan and Christ.

Again, I'm no expert. I just believe that word study can unlock hidden truths, but we must be careful not to let it snag us into fruitless debate.
