Yummy vegan malt loaf. I turned the plate upside down and it stayed put. You can't get a higher recommendation than that.
(Apology to @ChristineM - the coffee is decaff)

I don't have any pics, but have been making some simple salads of red onions, cucumbers, feta cheese, olives (optional), wheat pita bread snips tossed throughout, tomatoes. Toss with a little olive oil and vinegar and some basil, oregano, salt and pepper. I find it very satisfying for lunch or dinner, and healthy.

We discovered black sticky (glutinous) rice and pinto beans make an interesting kind of chewy burger. About 2/3 rice, 1/3 bean. Was going to be black bean but we didn't have any so subbed pinto beans. Spices to taste salsa on top, with besan 'bread', pita, regular bread, or roti.

These are pretty good. I added finely snipped dulse seaweed to the black rice while it was cooking for the heme taste. It was difficult to keep the first two burgers from falling apart in a frying pan, so I'll try baking the rest of the mash in the oven.

Sorry, I forgot to mention ours were baked. The thing I really appreciate about home made burgers is that you're in charge of the flavour completely. With any pre-prepared stuff, somebody else decides.

Thanks. The baked ones kept their shape. (It's not like the pan-fried ones fell apart, the glutinous rice held them together. They just didn't hold their shape.)

Has anyone here ever tried veggie meatloaf? Mom made it once, it was so good. I wish I remembered the recipe. I'll have to ask her.
