the virgin mary

And why might one choose that over the others if not solely to provoke Christians by calling Mary an adulteress? It's petty (and hypocritical) ad hominem, nothing less.

I understand your point, however you are not thinking outside the christian square.

A woman comes comes home pregnant, claims she is still a virgin.

I can believe her virgin story,or believe she is adulterous.

And you think I am foolish for believing the latter,I am seen as a fool for saying she is not a virgin.

But saying a virgin got pregnant is fine, nothing foolish about that, how easy it is to use faith so the masses do not question the obvious.

Thats your guess.

I am fairly certain I am not the only one who sees you as for some reasoni junping to the most morally reproachable interpretation possible of other people's intentions .

I am not even saying you are wrong, its just that it seems to be a tendency of you, and while you are very free to not believe me, I can tell you for a fact you have been wrong on it.

Mary was a woman, I hate adultery with my soul, but quite honestly a lot of saints did a lot of horrible things. If someone chooses to feel offended for the exploration of one hypothesis of the happenings, thats on hir.

If you truly believe that is what he is doing, your remarks wont either make him stop, nor teach him, nor make you look particularly cool. I honestly just dont know why you do it.

She was pregnant, not to her husband.

this is not a possibility,so someone got her pregnant.

Pointing out the obvious is not christian bashing, what do you think would happen if she said im pregnant to another man.

it would be raining stones on poor little unfaithful Mary.

There is only one way to get pregnant,we are not living in story book.

In the early 20th century, there was some scholarship that believed the Virgin Birth to be interpolated in the early period of Christianity's development. It never really got disproven, just swept under the rug during the Christian revival movements.

The Geneologies are a bit suspect as well. For instance, there's a 300 year gap between Salmon and Boaz.

And John and Mark apparently didn't think it was important enough to list.

And some of the Apocrypha seems to directly indicate that Joseph was regarded as the biological Father in response to accusations that Jesus was a Mamzer.

.

One of them being that she was pregnant and she made up a story.

Or how about something that most scholars follow.

The unknown authors of the gospels had no clue about Jesus birth, and wrote in what they needed to build divinity to win over converts who would be worshipping the Emperor the "son of god" before Jesus was tagged with that phrase.

Augustus was the "son of god" before Jesus was even born.

Not only was it not in Mark, it didn't become orthodox until the 2nd century. Early church fathers argued this in detail.

Does anyone here actually believe Mary was a virgin, please tell me it isn't so.

I believe she got pregnant and told her husband a rediculous story to avoid a good stoning,he convinced himself it was TRUE for fear of losing his lady.

Reality, Mary was playing around.

As a Buddhist you may be aware there were miraculous events around the birth of Gautama the Buddha not so unlike those associated with Jesus Christ. The legends are also significant because they convey the nature of Beings Who have benefited humanity.

As a buddhist he can very well choose to not believe in them and still be a buddhist.

Those events that you speak of around Buddha were rubbish.

Buddha would tell you that I believe.

I believe Mary was a virgin and conceived without the aid of a man.

Wow,a spelling mistake, you truly are a master debater when you resort to pointing out spelling mistakes.

Can you please show me the christian bashing part, it has been told to us she was a virgin, and im supposed to just say nothing.

If someone says the sky is not blue I will question it, its not bashing, they are the ones who are at fault for lying and expecting me not to question them or pull them up on it.

Check my gramma ok,I may have slipped up somewhere,I do apologise as English is my third language,I am trying.

Sanskrit? The word is grammar not gramma.

I believe that is appropriate. Certainly the sky is not always blue because it is occluded with clouds. I believe the whole point of the virgin birth is that it isn't a natural birth and that God was involved in a creative way.

I beleive God does not lie and Christians are just repeating what God said.

well if it was a dream,it must be TRUE,lol.

Oh my oh my,anything can happen in a dream for crying out loud,we have crazy dreams every night, but im yet to meet a mother who is a virgin.

Absolutly childish and ridiculous.

I believe your lack of experience does not make my experience childish or ridiculous.

There ae three types of dreams. There are dreams that come in a deep sleep that probably come from the spirit; there are fantasy dreams where the mind participates and there are prophetic dreams from God. I have experienced all three.

Usually the most crazy dreams are the ones that come in deep sleep.
