The Virginia Tech Shooting Memorial Thread

nutshell

Well-Known Member
I'm creating this thread to give those who wish to do so a place to send a message to the families and victims of the Virginia Tech Shooting and/or share a message of peace and hope. This is not a place of debate or discussion. Mods, please feel free to move to a more appropriate forum if you wish.

I'll start:

My prayers and the prayers of my family go out to the victims and families of those involved in this horrendous tragedy. I have no idea what you must be going through. Nevertheless, I encourage you to stay strong. Take care care of yourself so you can then take care of others. I expect there must be so many questions about what has happened. None are probably bigger than the question "Why?" Sometimes there are no answers. Cry and get angry. It's normal. Feel depressed and lost. It's normal. And when the time comes, all of you will be able to rise up and shout that this trial has made you stronger. That's what I pray for. Hang in there. Be strong.

Two kids from my congregation currently attend Tech. Thankfully, we found out last night they are both safe. Everyone is just shocked by this. If this had happened at VCU instead of Tech, we could have very likely lost someone from our congregation since so many work, teach and attend school there. That makes it hit home even more for me. I just want to go there and hug all those families and kids and let them know they are not alone.

The Wise Lord will hold the souls of those who died lovingly. God grieves with you for your loss. All over the world people of all faiths (and those of none) are shocked on your behalf and wish the best for you. You are being prayed for in dozens of languages and in dozens of faiths. Although this time is very, very, hard for you there are so many folk who wish you well.

for each body lost that day, may the Goddess hold their spirits and their hearts in their place of rest.

for those left to grieve the dead, may the God be planting his seeds of hope and light, to bring comfort and future joys.

my prayers are for all affected by this event...
