1. The Left just does not get it. I can't, for the life of me, understand their rationale behind opposing a wall along the USA's southern border. Such a wall would prevent a large percentage of drugs from just being walked or driven across the border. The Coast Guard would intercept any seaborne drug traffic, and the Air Guard/Force would intercept any airborne drug traffic. How is putting a major crunch of drugs flowing up through Mexico into the US, a bad thing? I'd rather my tax dollars be spent on infrastructure, instead of medical bills for some crackhead that is strung out on heroin. Cut off the supply, the drugs dry up, and we move forward instead of being chained down to our lowest common denominator.
I don't do illegal drugs, so choking them off doesn't bother me one single bit. Hell, it would make my job easier! I can't even begin to count the number of times I have worked a death involving an overdose.
@Neo Deist this was the only thing that I really disagreed with in your post about the Liberals.
Now, with the process of illegal immigration, I've read that some of it is by air (and if the Air Force isn't catching all the planes, they're not logistically going to be able to.) Some by water (and again, the Coast Guard would have it's work cut out for it.) But some also comes from legal immigration through work visas, and then outstaying the length of the allowed visit. I don't believe that a wall is going to stop illegal immigration.
The same with drugs. Every means of prohibition has failed; drugs still come in. I don't see how a wall is going to stop that.
