The weird weather in Florida

I do not live in Florida, I am pleased to say. Nor do I live in the USA but in another wonderful country. What I am thinking as another hurricane heads towards Florida, is God saying something about Florida or even the USA? The fact that the Bush brothers govern each in their own way, is God making a stement? Anyone have any opinion on this phenomena, especially with the upcoming Presidential election?

Hmm, interesting idea. But no. Flordia has always been hit by hurricanes and will continue to do so. It's just part of the weather they have to deal with there.

I remember when I visited Florida several years ago there were two Hurricanes, a tornado and thunderstorms every night in the space of a week.

Florida serves as a buffer protecting the rest of the country from Hurricanes... they usually get some of thier strength sapped by hitting it first.

Well, several years ago, a well-known evangelist (I think it was Pat Robertson...can't remember actually who it was), claimed success in having a hurricane avoid the Carolinas through prayer. According to this evangelist, he and other faithful Christians prayed for the Hurricane to miss the Carolinas and it did swerve away...Unfortunately, it hit further up on the US coast...guess those people further North were either not praying hard enough or were sinners who needed to be punished :)

And that is why we keep all the old people here.

Thank you, CivilCynic! I think you see what I'm getting at. I live in a country which is suffering from drought at the present time. We have a history of drought periods. The churches are having prayer days for rain, but as someone smarter than I said, what Deity do we blame the drought on?.
