A man had two sons, one of them is a farmer, and the other is a pot maker. The old man payed the farmer son a visit and asked the usual questions of how's he doing and how's life, etc. The son answered "everything is well, father. I borrowed so much money to by seeds and I planted them. If it rains, it would be great, but if does not, I'm screwed!". The father takes off to his other son; the pot maker. They meet and the father asks the same usual questions about well being and life. The potter son replies "all is fine, dad. I borrowed so much money to by clay to make pots. I'll put them under the sun so they dry and I can sell them. If it rains, I'm screwed!"

The father goes back home and meet the mother. The mothers asks: "do you think it will rain soon?" The father answers "dunno, but we should thank God and be glad either we get rain or we don't".

Wisdom is a rich commodity wherever and for whoever, and in the Bible, 'wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord God.' This may seem foreign to some, but this basic principle is one of the core understandings in Christianity that leads to growing in godliness. God-fearing men and women are best illustrated in these three books: the book of Proverbs, the book of Ecclesiastes, and the book of Job - Or rather, it explores three different perspectives that people have on life and their experiences. Perhaps mending all three together, one can determine a fuller understanding of life and it's challenges.

Here's a summary of what to expect in these books,
"The book of Proverbs is like a brilliant young teacher"
A pleasing book filled with filled with wisdom about how to live a beautiful life in peace and prosperity. It also shows sayings that are inherently true, like a moral universal law that cannot be bypassed because of it's very nature it is embedded into life itself.

"The book of Ecclesiastes is like the sharp middle-aged critic"
Ecclesiastes is a book that is not as optimistic compared to Proverbs. In more ways, it gives the reader a sobering reality-check that life is not all sunshine and rainbows; and like a nihilist, it reflects on the meaningless of life because of the touch of death that is dealt to all. Despite the books melancholy, it doesn't finish up on a purposeless life worldview, but comes to offer a simple philosophy on living.

"The book of Job, the weathered old man who has seen a lot in his day"
The book of Job explores the mentality of a righteous man who had lost everything and his friends try to convince him that all these troubles that had befallen him were because he deserved it. It tests Job's mettle and it provides an insight into not the why, but reveals a curious realization of his position in the universe and humbled by it.
