"The word on girls" (warning: long)

I think men and women have much more in common than they do in difference. But in my view they are not entirely identical. For instance, I think men tend to seek physical intimacy faster than they seek emotional intimacy, and women tend to seek emotional intimacy faster than they seek physical intimacy. There may be evolutionary reasons for that.

I'd like to return to my earlier point that both men and women tend to be confused about what they want in the other sex. Discovering what you want in the other sex is a learning process. That is, there is a learning curve to it. And people begin that process more or less ignorant of what they can reasonably expect from the other sex. Both young boys and young girls have unreasonable expectations of the other sex. That's natural.

Do you honestly know a girl or guy who would say exactly that? That's just stereotyping.
Like many stereotypes, Jensa, it has some truth in it. I agree, however, that it's exaggerated and you would be unlikely to find anyone who would say exactly what Faint has written. But that men and women tend to have different "romantic" expectations of each other is something that I think is well established.
