The world will end on Thursday.....

Well according to the Christian Bible this "world" will end, some say in our lifetime, when
God says " O.K. enough of this." and Jesus returns to fight the battle between good
and evil and returns the earth and it's survivors to a government called a Theocracy.
In this government run by God thru Jesus all inhabitants of this earth would be of
like mind in worship of God thru Jesus.
I rather like that notion and hope that happens.
Sadly, by means of what I've been taught, Christendom teaches that the righteous, upon
death, will float off someplace else. The unrighteous will be cast into a burning lake
of fire to be tormented for all eternity.

There's an engineering concept which could be called the "perversity of nature".
Otherwise known as "Murphy's Law(s). One of my favorite's is:

When I designed industrial machinery, we even made a distinction between "fool proof" & "damn fool proof". The latter term is what Murphy had in mind in the above quote.

The Law Of Selective Gravitation.....
Any valuable object which is dropped, will fall such that it seeks out an orientation & location to maximize damage.
I've seen it happen.

So do we get to sue the weather network if a meteor wipes us out Thursday?
Given all the times during my life that I've read and heard prophecies of doom of one sort or another, I'm not holding my breath. After all someone who lived through the almost nuclear end of the world during the Cuban Missile Crisis tends to not get emotionally overwrought by the current set:

I can't imagine sucking up to anything that would do that to creatures they created. If any real parent was 1/1,000,000 that cruel to their child, we'd shoot them. And rightfully so.

What you say has merit to my way of thinking also.
However I'm not God.
However consider:
Stalin, Hitler, the Huns, Romans, Radical Islam, well I could go on for a long time and so could you.
Who wept at Hitlers demise? There were some that wept after him. Those minions were
every bit as evil as Hitler was.
See my point?
Religiously speaking evil must die and with the death of evil so go that follow evil.
Frankly I see nothing unjust in such treatment of those that willing follow evil.
Were not Hitlers henchmen punished? Were not some hanged?
Did the world shed a tear?
We hoped and prayed there would never be another Hitler.
But there could very well be another similar in violence and torture of other humans.
One has only to follow the current news and see the horrendous act committed by
humans against fellow humans.
ISIS burns people alive, beheads women and children, shoots boys for watching
sports on t-v, throws suspected gay men off rooftops and more.
Is that the kind of world we are cursed to live in forever?
Is that what you support with your "god fearing atheist attitude"?
This ISIS threat will get much worse. It's incredible that this world produces young
men and women willing to do anything to travel thousands of miles to join ISIS
in the slaughter of fellow Muslims even after seeing on the news how evil ISIS is.
Yet there are people like you that want to hold "god" accountable for the promise
to clean up this mess.
I don't understand your thinking at all.

I don't want to hold god accountable. He doesn't exist. I was saying how glad I am that I don't believe we're ants and there's a fat kid with no friends and a magnifying glass watching us.
