The Worst Genre of Music?

Every genre has great and terrible performers and artists. But generally, the stuff required in the production and writing process necessary to actually sell albums will almost always make the sound soulless, trite, or shallow.

Chinese opera reminds me of 2 cats yowling their intention to fight.
But it goes on much longer.

Not the worse...but very annoying - norteño

I have a hard time because a good example of just about all types can be somewhat enjoyable or at least "educational"

I don't believe there is a worst genre of music just like there is no best genre

Cannot be killed? No, that's probably true. But those who listen to metal will feel better once the headache stops. ;)

I never get a headache from metal. I fell asleep once with Slayer blaring in my ears before. Lol. Been to many metal shows, too. The only pain I've gotten from it was sore muscles all over my body from moshing. Oh, and a pair of broken glasses. Both thanks to Lamb of God.

I've experienced & desired nearly all forms of music at some point in my life. I went through numerous phases of interest. Right now I'd say post-rock/ambient is my main genre.

I really don't understand the distaste in metal. I've been listening to the subgenre of death metal for a solid five or six years. Sometimes I just need that raw friction to blast through my skull to feel good. It's also the most challenging form of music I've ever learned to play, which is why it is still awe-inducing to listen to.

The worst genres of music, to me, would have to be hip-hop, followed by pop, then rap. It's the simplicity, and usually the repetitiveness, of the music that bothers me.
