There are two Left-wings

There are two lefts. Dos derechas. Deux droites. Zwei Linken.
Both in the US and in Europe.

One is lounge-loving, yacht loving and is funded by George Soros, Schwab and similar individuals.
Defined by Tulsi Gabbard as an elitist cabal of warmongers.
They only care about LGBTs and sex and what links the two. They couldn't care less about the poor or the people in need.
They only care about sipping cocktails in a luxurious yacht while speaking of opera and of Caribbean Sea cruises...
They pretend to side with the people...but won't do anything about welfare programs, like universal healthcare.

The other is totally focused on easing people's lives. They try to make American people's life better. The Left of RFK Junior...and Tulsi Gabbard. Or Sanders.
They think wars are awful and destructive and think the money spent on war should be spent on universal healthcare instead. Or on other programs meant to improve all the social classes.

So which Left do you prefer? ;)

And that's the senator that used the expression "lounge-loving and carefree Left"
That I mention and quote all the time. Senator Maiorino.

RFK Junior and Tulsi Gabbard seem to be more right-wing.... but may still be Democrats despite being right-wing. (I think Tulsi now identifies as an independent, though)

Not sure why one should compare them with Sanders, who has a few bigoted followers, but overall is a left socialist.

There are no "city walls" around political ideas. There are just numerous strata occupied by many highly varied people. Life's rich tapestry as they say.

On many if not most issues I agree with Sanders. RFK Jr. would be MUCH better than Biden IMHO but he has essentially been blacklisted by the D party operatives.

As a Christian socialist, though, I know we could so much better. But the left here has become mostly Godless and selfish (they act like they care about the natural world but their day to day actions show they are not serious).

How can Kennedy be right-wing, since he is fighting for this?

But Sanders is the exact opposite of Hillary Clinton.

Well...because the Sorosian framework considers them not submittable.
They won't yield to that monstrous apparatus made up of wars and other despicable stuff.

Thank you for acknowledging that. I really appreciate it.

Kennedy may be a centrist (which isn't left-wing, which still defeats the idea that he is left-wing), and a lot of websites say that he's centrist. Though personally, I will say right-wing.... and yes, I've looked at his policies.

But Sanders is the exact opposite of Hillary Clinton.

One's an establishment Democrat, the other isn't. But on policies, where it really matters for classifications.... what policies are the opposite between the two?

Well...no.
He is the heir of that good leftism that started with JFK in the sixties and that was undone in the eighties.
Also thanks to people like Kissinger.

Centrism isn't leftism, though. You don't even have to be bipartisan and fair to be to the left, because it has to do with policy. You can be, but it's not what defines "left". Policy does.

Another thing that makes the OP confusing is it could have made for a pretty good comparison - comparing warmongers on the left to peaceful people on the left - but instead compared people like Tulsi and Kennedy, who aren't really left.

Wars, wars, wars.

Both the Left and the Right tend to start and engage in wars. If you've read enough posts by @Revoltingest , you'd know that he tends to support neither for that reason.

What policy makes a politician "a leftist"?

They are.
Was JFK left or right?
Was MLK left or right?

There are American politicians who are against all wars.
I suggest you to listen to Sanders and his ideas on foreign policies.

That said, tell me what you think of Gabbard's speech on post#2.

There is no left wing in the US, the Dems are about where a normal (The current one isn't normal) Tory party is.
Good point. But I believe Kennedy wants to fight the system by making a real Left.
A real labor party.

What policy makes a politician "a leftist"?

No single policy. There are a number of things that can throw one in either direction as one looks at policies. Even a strong skepticism of medicine and science could put one further "Right".

There is no left wing in the US, the Dems are about where a normal (The current one isn't normal) Tory party is.

There is a left wing, but it's only a small percentage. The people right-wingers call "Socialist". Although, if we're talking Marxists.... they're practically non-existant here.

"Against all wars" says nothing as to whether the person is on the Left or the Right.

Was JFK left or right?
Was MLK left or right?

I'd need to study their individual policies in greater detail first to decide.

One thing, though.... if one identifies as Democrat, or even if they are one.... it doesn't automatically make them Left.

Most Lefts are Democrats, but most Democrats aren't Lefts.
