Funny thing is that it's like what the Bible says, "have ears but can't hear. Eyes, but can't see." People tend to become fixated on their ideas and world views and stick to them and never question them.
We are seeing the same things, an already setup planet. Some insist that the earth is only a few thousand years old but isn't like I was around to say otherwise. Both scientists and creationists believe in a common ancestry. Doing it in less time would just be more magical, less naturalistic. Evolution deniers seem to be insisting on denying completely naturalistic explanations, but thats all we find.
