In Illinois!! That is why I am awake. It was just a little one, and it was no longer than about 15 seconds where I am, but I had never experienced an earthquake before. That was exciting. :D

Matthew 24:3

"As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

Matthew 24:4-8

Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

How many earthquakes in different place were reported in the last 5 years? does anyone know?

They aren't common here either. I thought at first maybe my body was just shaking, because my legs were shaking yesterday, for no reason, but I also heard glass and stuff rattling on shelves.

I sure don't know... And I am sure not going to look it up. :D

I wonder if I should go back to sleep for a few hours... I've got 3 and a half hours before my class...... And I went to sleep only 3 or 4 hours ago... I think I am tired.

The earthquake woke us up this morning, too, Hannah. I know you're closer to it, but we felt some serious rockin' and rollin'.

The funny thing was this morning, when it hit, and I was in my fuzzy-half-asleep-mental-state.......that my first reaction to the bed shaking was peeking over my shoulder to look at my husband and ask, "What the hell are you doing?" :p

Once I realized it was an earthquake, I was rather concerned that we were experiencing something from the New Madrid seismic zone, which would produce MUCH worse results to our infrastructure. Right now, I'm still wondering if we'll have any aftershocks, so my instincts are keeping me in this "stay alert" mentality.

Glad you're OK, beautiful. You live pretty close to my cousin and her family who live in Urbana.

Peace,

I was half asleep too. :D It was about 4:45am, and my first thought was that just I was shaking... And I was thinking: "Geeeze... what is wrong with me now?" But then I heard glass rattling, and I was thinking: "Ahhh!! Cool!! An earthquake!!"

Hey! I just felt it too! :trampo:

Granted, these are fun. But we still need to make sure there aren't any gas leaks or cracks in the foundation. Those are serious.

Aftershocks, love.

Peace,
