I keep hearing atheist say there's no evidence that God exists.

That is not the way I see it. I see evidence for the existence of God all over the place.

I'm not really seeing much evidence that God is kind to everybody. I actually see evidence that God is quite cruel, and believe he wants us to suffer and die in this life, but give us great reward in the next life. ( As suffering and death glorified Christ, I believe suffering and death will bring us glory. Just my personal belief.)

I'm convinced that God has a select few people that he speaks clear messages to. It seems to me God has favorites.

Just because God doesn't speak to most people clear messages, and just because there's a lot of suffering and misery in the world that God doesn't prevent, doesn't mean there is no evidence that God exists.

If more people vote on this poll that they have seen evidence that God exists, than those who have not seen evidence of God's existence, where do we then turn to determine who is right and who is wrong, regarding whether or not the evidence actually exists?

( in the question in the poll, I'm not just talking about the abrahamic God. If you believe you have seen evidence, that some sort of unseen Supernatural entity, was partially or fully responsible for the creation of Earth and creatures, vote yes)

It's quite possible that God does speak to the average person on a regular basis, but the person does not recognize God's voice.

When God speaks to the average person, it's possible (and in my opinion likely) that it shows up as an inner voice, intuition, conviction of heart, impression, inspiration, or a vision in the imagination, and the person is totally unaware that another entity is guiding them.

This depends what we mean by evidence. Scientific evidence is neutral, it doesn't prove anything divine or disprove a creator. There are things that happen rather naturally with the natural laws in our universe. An omniscient designer would only need to design, tweak the laws and let his experiment produce what they had in mind.

Of course, for me personally, the proof of God is in the experience.

There is no evidence. But if God exists and wanted to remain hidden, I figure that God, being omnipotent etc., could pull it off so that there would be none. And, there's a good reason God would want to do that...can you guess why?

Why does God have to be a creator? You're placing limitations on what is supposed to be a limitless entity. God has to be doing or saying X. Gods role has to be X.
Meh.

I'm theistic minded for my own reasons. But I won't front and say it's based on definite evidence. At least not in the sense of scientific evidence.
If you need concrete solid absolute evidence then what is the point of faith?
Concrete evidence is perfectly rational to base one's opinions and understandings on. But one can also be abstract in the sense of belief. Superstition I'm less fond of, but alas that is a consequence.

Maybe you shouldn’t have used the word “God” in the question then. I think a major blocker on this question is the inability of many to separate the concept of some form of sentient creative force from the various religious depictions of gods.

There’s clearly no reason why a creator needs to be anything like the conventional god image and there are obvious problems with the inconsistent depictions and believes, both across faiths and within them, with those theological beliefs also often inconsistent with the purported evidence for creation.

Your evidence would be demonstrable and repeatable. If it doesn't fit into that category...it's not evidence, personal experiences don't count, unless you can recreate them and they come out the same every time.

I popped a string cord once and it knotted itself with no outside help other than gravity and the elasticity of the cord. I have since attempted to do it again to no avail, it's a miracle! I bet that one day I will pop a string on an overhead fan one day and it will knot itself the probability of it happening again is just very slim, but I was able to witness it. But it's not a miracle.

You want to promote a certain definition of the word God that is more familiar to you. But of course there has been a long tradition of people using it in different ways from pantheists to religions of the book to mystics.

Our languages often have problems with suitcase words. Consider the word atheist, meditation or the words artificial intelligence.

After reading this, I had to switch my vote to "no." Gods in some religions are not supernatural, nor are they creator gods. That said, I see evidence of my gods all the time. It's impossible not to when your gods are literally all the aspects of reality (and then some). So I always get a good laugh when some angstheist claims "there's no evidence for gods," or even more amusing "humans created gods." Outside of the classical monotheism box, that's the same thing as saying there's no evidence for the universe or anything in it... and that humans created the universe and everything in it.

Because He wants to be the ultimate hide and seek champion?

The evidence that god (life itself) is in part this:

shows up as an inner voice, intuition, conviction of heart, impression, inspiration, or a vision in the imagination,

Who you attribute this to (parents, vishnu, pagan, jehovah, etc) is a matter of personal belief and individual culture. But the effects rather than source are the same regardless of who or what you say these qualities come from.

God (life) "speaks" to people everyday. We dont need to be aware of a specific god nor call it god to experience "god."

My question is, when you talk about god loving you and having feelings and motives, where do you get this from? Did you read about it?

I actually see evidence that God is quite cruel, and believe he wants us to suffer and die in this life, but give us great reward in the next life.

How do you know god is cruel or speaks or has favorites?

Is this something you read?
A feeling that a god has feelings or so have you?
Something you were told?

Do you believe that a god or goddess or multiple, were involved with the mechanisms of science, when our world was created. If so, please change your vote to yes

It's an observation based on the human misery, confusion, and suffering in our world

You are functionally identical to a Christian girl I
was talking with as we strolled across campus one
fall day.

A nice leaf drifted down at our feet. She picked it
up and said, "Look, God sent this to us, to represent the Trinity!"

I took it, looked the least bit more closely.

"So why does it have five parts?"

She looks at it again.

"Oh", she says, "God sent it to use to represent the
Pentarch!".

And I say, to myself. "Honestly, people in America!!!"

"Involved with?" It's awkward wording for me. There's an implied separation between the gods and the "mechanisms of science" as you put it. I don't believe that separation is there. The gods are biological evolution, the gods are the laws of physics, and so forth. Typical Western narratives of gods presume a distant and separate creator god. That's not what I honor.
