Things that are awesome about the new RF

Things that are awesome about the new RF:
  • Smileys. Dear gods, so many smileys. If I could have more than four in my signature, I totally would. Hey, site owner people, can we increase the smiley limit? I need like... uh... twenty more or so. Four to represent the Four Elements: :cloud::boom::gemstone::droplet:, plus I want a montage of all those moon phases: :newmoon::waxcrescent::firstqmoon::waxgibbous::fullmoon::wangibbous::lastqmoon::wancrescent::newmoon:, and also probably this one: :books:, and these ones which will change by what season it is: :seedling::hibiscus::fallenleaf::snowflake:. Anything less is against my religion. ;)
  • Alerts. Typically, I find these things painfully annoying. Yet it actually works here, and is useful, and not annoying.
  • Chat room. I never used the one on the old site. This one might actually get used by me. Mostly to convince DS to get a mustache, along with all other male members of RF.
  • Special Mod Stuff. You regular members wouldn't know it, but the system we had before of doing mod stuff was kind of cumbersome. From the looks of it, the new system will be significantly more efficient.
  • Smileys. Did I say that already? Life felt so vacuous without one of my most essential emotional states. This one:  (or possibly )
Anyone else have some?

My goodness, you just unleashed a monster...lol

I'm liking the general readability of the threads on different devices, actually. First thought was 'Oh crap, different...' and I had some nav issues. But it all passed pretty quick, and I like the general look and feel, and readability.

LOVE:
super quick page loads (thank you, thank you, thank you!)
alert feature
email notifications are much more reliable
modern software all around. :)

Definitely faster.
Though I do miss my midnight theme and being able to load 40 posts per page...

The alerts for quotes is useful. The fact that the bottom of the thread informs you if people respond in the middle of you writing a response. I don't really notice any difference in speed.

Besides that, much of it makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable.

You can add polls to your thread. I haven't had a time recently where I needed that, but I used to get them... quite a bit.

- I like the new interface, if not necessarily the new look. It's much faster and easier to get around.

- I like how I'm alerted about new likes, posts, quotes, etc.

- The smilies are far more expressive.
