Things that are awesome about the new RF

ratikala

allthough I am generaly against popup notifications Alerts work well ,

and yes its fast Yippy doo , ......but I cant find the Hindu topics so easily , ...not Yippy doo !

I realy miss the highlighting if the individual DIR's when looking through new posts it takes ages and I find nothing , ...prehaps many of my favirite posters have left ???

and on the subject of pop ups ,...do we realy need to see everyones pictures , it feels too voyeristic to me !

sorry I am supposed to be finding good things to say ?

smillys , ...yes thousands of them Yippy doo !

I like the way my computer plays "Hail to the chief" every time I log into RF now.

Not being on high speed internet, I've only noticed a very slight improvement in the speed. Rather, I'd say on my end it's smoother and more streamline. I think the smileys are lacking, and while we had an overkill amount, some of the more widely used ones, like an applause, trampoline, the hugs, and others the current line up lacks. I really don't care for the social media/XBox look and feel of it. And the frubals are still MIA. It's like going through withdrawals not having them. I'm also not too big on my face being plastered all over the place.
I do like the new text box. I like the new thread box under the new profile box (which I do not like as it reminds me of the 360 box) on the upper right screen. I like how the main navigation bar has been simplified, reduced, and all the dead and useless links removed.
And I haven't been able to figure out the difference between new posts and recent posts, and why that number never goes away.

The similar sections shows the 5 most related threads from the past. I did not realize rf had such a long history with so many past visitors.

Being able to look into the past is very interesting
