I read a book recently that this 'Christ' figure reappears in various places and cultures, yes, infinitely.
I don't know the answer.

The Bible does not say that “Jesus” will return at all, but maybe it implies that the Christ will return more than once.
'God' sends an Avatar to the world approximately every 2160 years according to the precession of the equinoxes. The most recent Avatars were:
- 10000-8000 BC Age of Leo - Hermes Trismegistus (Egypt)
- 8000-6000 BC Age of Cancer- Hercules (Greece)
- 6000-4000 BC Age of Gemini - Rama (India)
- 4000-2000 BC Age of Taurus - Mithra (Europe)
- 2000 - 0 BC Age of Aries - Krishna (India)
- 0 - 2000 AD Age of Pisces - Jesus (Middle-east)
- 2000-4000 AD Age of Aquarius - ? (Yet to come)

Infinite means infinity. The way I read it, Jesus has just two more trips. This next trip, what we are calling the second coming, is just another visitation like the first coming. At the second coming, Jesus comes back to get His People, and takes them to be where He has prepared a place for them, where He is, His Father's House with many rooms. If that were not true, would He have told us?
In Acts it says: "Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. Jesus stays in heaven, New Jerusalem, until the time comes to restore "all things". "All things" aren't restored until the thousand years of Revelation 20 are finished. After the thousand years, I think in 3025, Jesus says: "behold I make all things new again". This will be His third and final coming.
I guess if you wanted to count Creation week, and maybe the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD, you could count 5 comings.
Or the burning bush with Moses, and the Commander of the Lord's army at Jericho. Joshua was told to take off his sandals similar to how Moses did at the burning bush. Then there could be 7 comings. But just 2 more that we are worried about.
I imagine that Jericho deal would be a great scene for a movie. Imagine at night, outside the wall of Jericho:
"When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?” And he said, “No; but I am the commander of the army of the Lord. Now I have come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?” And the commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so. - Joshua 5:13-15
And Joshua did so.
As I would do so too.

There is nothing wrong in believing that he is actually a God, but I don't think so.
Please explain why do you think so?

Why would "“Jesus” will return an infinite number of times" be required for that?

Why would Jesus need to return at all to ensure everlasting life. He already did that.
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Jesus said that because His soul existed in the spiritual world before Abraham was born in this world.
The Prophets, unlike us, are pre-existent. The soul of Christ existed in the spiritual world before His birth in this world. We cannot imagine what that world is like, so words are inadequate to picture His state of being.

If the world began in 1980 then surely he didn't actually come the first time round??????
