This Is Our RF Christmas Party

The party is right here, It's pot luck. The piano is in the corner, Maize is playing Christmas songs. Mrs. C is dancing on the piano and she hasn't had a drink yet. What are you bringing and what is everyone doing?

I will entertain. A 6 foot cake awaits, as does whoever who is hiding in it.

LOL, I could think of a certain phantom poster waiting to spring from it.

Just remember to not cook the cake with the person inside of it.:D

I'm putting some birdseed on the porch for the birdies and other critters! Then coming in to some warm cocoa, and looking anxiously at the stack of virtual presents I've gotten everyone, hoping they'll be liked.

What did you get us?

I'm bringing some home-made chocolate chip cookies ( the only thing I can cook! ). You'll find me sitting in front of a warm, glowing fire, sipping mulled wine, simply content to observe everyone around me. ;)

I'll bring the Christmas tree if that's ok and perhaps we can design an ornament from each of us that says Merry Christmas to each other. I'll also be sitting near the cake to see if the Reaper jumps out to say hi...or is that inappropriate for this party? I'll be looking forward to meeting all who attends and wishing you all well for the coming New year.:woohoo: A PARTY!!!

I bring those cute little chocolate covered three layer cakes (petits fours). I stop over and say Hello to Rex Admin and ask him what he is doing. He is telling me he is watching everyone get drunk off the egg nog. I remind him that I made the egg nog and that he specifically said no alcohol at this party. He says that he knows that but told everyone there is alcohol in it. We proceed to watch chuck101342 and pah (egg nog cups in hand) petting and talking to an invisible pink unicorn.

TVOR comes dressed in full Santa regale (I guess we’ll never know what he looks like) and invites most of the female participants to climb on his knee and tell Santa what they want for Christmas all the while knowing that his Christmas wishes have finally been fulfilled. I float over to the table where Duet. 32.8 is sitting and ask him why he is not on the dance floor having a good time. “Contemptible pretentiousness” he barks at me. I immediately go to my dictionary and discover that what he is trying to tell me is “Bah Humbug”.

Lightkeeper in all her caring joy at finally seeing everyone cannot seem to get out of Religious Forum mode and proceeds to verbally ask everyone what they think about everything from the decorations to the buffet menu. I earnestly check in with her every once and awhile. Soultype01 has given a copy of his book (which is now completed and is a bestseller) to everyone for Christmas. I go over to the corner where the band is setting up. Maize is changing the reed on her saxophone, lousyskater is tuning his guitar up, Lintu on piano, Master Vigil is setting up his drums and Linus on bass. We are doing all the standard rock and roll Christmas tunes at first then slowing it down to an unplugged hymnal led by SOGFPP at the end of the evening for everyone to sing. First song on the list is “Christmas Wrapping” by the Waitresses with Runt, FeathersInHair, mrscarrdero (who actually is a good singer) and Ceredwin 018. This is going to be the best party ever!

As carderro said, I'll show up in my Santa outfit, but the pants are shorts, and I'll be wearing tennis shoes instead of the patent leather boots. With the thick beard from the Santa costume, the glasses, and the Santa hat pulled low across my forehead, I shouldn't scare too many of the good little kids. After everyone has had their turn telling "Santa" what they want, I'll be mixing with the crowd, telling ribald jokes, laughing loudly, and trying to burn the memories into my head. I won't stop trying to meet everyone until I have to leave to go deliver the presents to all the little boys and girls. At some point, I'll slip over to the corner where SOG and Hope are sitting, and we'll make a few shrewd observations about everyone else. I'll take a stroll over by the bandstand, and make a few requests. When the band comes back for the second set, I'll see if we can get them to strum some blues' chords while we all join in singing the Religious Forums' Blues. That will be Sunstone and Spinkles at stage left playing the air guitar and Pah will be holding the beer bottle mouthing the words.
As the evening winds down, I'll let the women folk all take a quick ride in the sleigh before I retire back into obscurity for another year.

.... AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT

I have to warn everyone that I didn't consider your denomination when I picked these out, so I apologize if you aren't currently celebrating any holiday that involves gifts!

For Lightkeeper, I got
2513.jpg

A dolphin candleholder. She always lives up to her name when it comes to bringing hope and brilliance to this forum, and, well... the dolphins are because she's so playful!

For SoulType, I got a statue of one of my three favorite Deaths, the other being Neil Gaiman's and himself...
death-on-binky.jpg

The horse's name is Binky, by the way.

I'd better not overload the site with images, I just realized... More presents to come!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just got back from my employee Christmas Party and I had better time at ours then I did at theirs.

Too funny! I know from experience you are telling it like it is.
