I am having my hot Shrimp dip and some Nacho Cheese flavored tortilla chips delivered because I have the flu and do not wish to give it to everyone.

The dip consists of 3 - 8oz packages of salad shrimp, 1 bar of cream cheese, as many cut up jalepenos that can be handled, and a few dashes of Worcestshire Sauce. Recipe can be doubled to produce enough to feed how every many people are there to eat it.

I love the stuff. If I was not queasy and nauseated I would be fixing it for myself.

My ChrismaHannaKwanzakaYule (Misspelled but I got it from the Virgin Mobile Cell Phone commercial and added Yule to it) present to you all is for me to stay home and not pass the flu to you while sending out the best of wishes for a great new year.

I'll be floating in with my halo and Harp and will play "Santa Baby Hurry down the chimney tonight"! I've always wanted to wear one of those red velvet skimpy santa outfits, with spike heels. I think I will!:)

I will bring the shrimp cocktail, little tiny hot dogs wrapped in dough, and a couple of cases of Luna di Luna wine. Good stuff.

The rest of it consists of layers of:

[start with a layer of the cake (which is actually one of those jam sponge rolls), sliced about 3/4" thick, soaked liberally with sherry]
canned diced or sliced fruit (pears and peaches are best)
custard
jelly (can use whatever flavour(s) you like, but Port Wine is considered a must in our house)
fresh whipped cream

Repeat until the bowl is full (usually you will fit two layers of each), finishing with the cream layer. Serve with a large spoon, so you get a bit of each layer (at least the top set :p). Do not let anyone stand near the bowl and absentmindedly stir the contents, or it will look disturbingly like vomit. Tastes good but! :p

Well, you see, those making the trifle generally get a bit more sherry than the people eating it. ;) Gotta check it regularly to make sure it still tastes ok...can't be serving people bad sherry now... :D
