There's a difference between Islam and extremism. Yes, the people depicted in the photos are Muslims but should we really judge the whole based on its worst examples? That kind of logic is no different than what 301 is spouting in that other thread.

Not trying to be harsh here, just my 2 cents.

In a way they are superior. Black and white thinking leaves little doubt about who is wrong and who is right. Of course leaving no shades of gray means many people in between get caught up and destroyed, but those doing the finger wagging will have a clean conscience and feel good about doing "the right thing"

Of course some of us would rather face the hard questions and evolve rather than reverting to the standards of thousand year old barbarian societies.

Not to just point the finger at Islam though, I mean anyone that chooses a conservative morality.

badran and all my muslim's brother, dont respond with thread like this....
Why shouldn't He. I think when Muslims like Badran reply to threads like this with the type of post he made it shows that not all Muslim are the same and that they do disagree with the horrible things done in the name of there religion. They speak up for what thye believe and are trying to help stop ignorance, though it doesn't always work.

Ignorance and self-righteousness take on a lot of forms and none of them are pretty.

For instance: when someone takes it upon themselves to scold the entire Muslim world for things that are happening in a few predominantly Muslim countries. ;)
You have to figure that when certain individuals within any group make the most noise that they will be the ones that are heard. To those outside the group, the things heard from those loud individuals are assumed to be the voice of the group as a whole.
