Correct. That is a problem that science has not yet solved. However, our experience has shown us that science usually does go on to solve the problems it addresses, and there is no reason to suppose that abiogenesis will be any different.

I very much doubt I will ever believe in God, and I don't see why the prospect of imminent death would make any difference there. But that is quite besides the matter of Evolution anyway, isn't it?
