When God commanded the Hebrews to have no idols, do you think he had American Idol in mind? I mean, the show is abysmal now, right? I think God was trying to cut things off at the pass.

Is this supposed to be comedic or serious love?

I am an atheist, so my perspective may not be what you have in mind, but-

Look at the "idols" we as a society worship.

Money, status, the trappings of same. Things, not ideas or ideals.

Higher and nobler values must exist, those things are
distractions; vanity and vexation.

What? Me worry?
As an aside, I had a friend that went to Indianapolis in January to audition for "The Voice". He got to stand in line for six hours.

Did he make it?

Hahaha...oh, wait...you're serious. He said that there were about 4500 people there waiting. Many of them had voice coaches with them. It's kind of a rigged deal. He got about 15 seconds of exposure ( and, in all honesty, he can't really sing).
