Let's talk about ISIS, if that's not too big a red button?
There was an article today on FB showing how ISIS has incredible social media skillz, and how they are having a lot of success recruiting young people. Most of the sisters from the masjid know that ISIS is trouble, but some of the young brothers seem to think that ISIS is living "real Islam".
To me, it looks black and white. ISIS doesn't speak for Islam or represent Islam, and most of the big scholars have denounced them. Like Azhar and the Grand Mufti of Saudi just condemned them this week as enemies of the faith. That's means that ISIS are zendaqa, right?
So if real authorities like Azhar and Saudi are against ISIS, why do some people still think that they are representing "real" Islam? Is there any chance that ISIS really does have a legitimate point of view, and the rest of us are just sold out to the Western powers?
For the record, I think ISIS is the new Great Satan. There, I said it.
