Jehovah our God is One
Well, there is no evidence at present confirming Belshazzers's regency, and his palace, allegedly discovered and unearthed, is just plain made up.
No university record of such an archaeological evacuation exists nor has been acknowledged.
the Verse Account of Nabonidus, corroborates Belshazzars kingly position at Babylon and explains the way he became a coregent with Nabonidus his father. The tablet states: He entrusted the Camp to his oldest (son), the firstborn [Belshazzar], the troops everywhere in the country he ordered under his (command). He let (everything) go, entrusted the kingship to him and, himself, he [Nabonidus] started out for a long journey, the (military) forces of Akkad marching with him; he turned towards Tema (deep) in the west. then there is also the "Nabonidus Chronicle" which says: The king (was) in Tema (while) the prince, the officers, and his army (were) in Akkad [Babylonia].
So while the king was away, he left his son Belshazzar in charge of the whole kingdom. This made him 2nd in charge....and in the bible, when Belshazzar wanted someone to interpret his dream, the bible says he offered the interpreter the 3rd highest position in his kingdom ....obviously he was 2nd, his father 1st.
