It's sad to reject such a great salvation. If this life is all there is, as the Sadducees suggest.....then eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you die.
Compromise is the key, I think. No more right and left. Let's please meet in the middle. But, let's please remember each morning what that middle is!

Jesus said to the Sadducees, " God is not a God of the dead, but of the living." But Paul says that Christ is Lord both of the dead and living.

Solve the riddle.
Jesus died to become Lord of the dead and rose to be Lord of the living.

Oh, but if you had any interest in the truth as declared by God, you might understand these things.
I understand what self serving means.... So I say something like "Jesus wants us to deny self and repentance is resurrection," and that means I have no interest in God's truth? Hey, maybe. I wish you a happy resurrection and reunion with your loved ones.

Conscious in the grave?
If they are conscious they are not dead. Usually conscious people are not buried.

The Bible gives an example of living people who went into the abyss/grave (Korah and the rebellion of Exodus) and dead people who are conscious and communicate now (Luke 16) for just two examples.
