I read (couldn't find the link) that yesterday Tirupati set a new record for daily Hundi donations to the tune of over $700 000 US. Most days its slightly less.
The charitable stuff that this temple does is amazing. Only 20% is kept for temple admin, salaries, and upkeep. The rest goes to free stuff (lodging, food, clean water, etc.) for pilgrims, hospitals, priest training schools, regular schools, forest management and more.
