Too much emotion overwhelms you, but not enough emotion cripples you. You can't live without it, not really, not meaningfully. Human life is very visceral, not purely conceptual. Its what makes us different from rocks and computers.

We feel because it is human nature to do so. Trying to stop feeling is like trying to get a dog to stop barking. If you take away these things, there is nothing left; you have destroyed the creature.

But you feel nothing. You don't care anymore if you live or die. You would probably go on living because you don't care enough to even kill yourself. But that's all you would do.
