To those who voted for Obama

As far as I can tell, he's doing exactly what I expected: being less evil than McCain might have been as far as I could tell.

As for who should replace him, I'll wait and see who the main runner-ups will be, first; at this point it's too early to tell.

I have no complaints, really, given the circumstances. My beefs are with the broken two-party system that is spending too much time playing politics instead of doing their ruddy jobs by making policy. It is beyond time for third parties to play a stronger role in this country, and with modern communications technology, there is absolutely no reason why they can't be viable players anymore. This groupthink party line crap is stagnating this country. And Kudos to Obama for managing it as well has he has. I don't envy the job.

I don't get to answer the OP (not an Obama voter), but I find this interesting
cuz I too thought McCain would be more "evil" (because he was so pro-war).

He is doing only as much as Congress gives him. Same as all Presidents.
Very well-put.

As for who should replace him at the end of his term, Jon Huntsman. Yeah, I know... it's never going to happen.

He's doing a little better than I expected of a president to the Right of Eisenhower.

And one who I wonder actually took note of Eisenhower endgame speech regarding the MIC.
But then again, Obama is only a President: only one man. As a non-American looking in from the outside, I'd say he's been alright, as in "not as bad as George W Bush".

As far as Obama goes,I think he is as guilty of the "it's got to be my way or the highway" rhetoric as anyone else in the current political cesspool.
Who should replace him? Judging by the current batch of goons and maroons that are being watched by the talking heads, this country is in more trouble than one legged man at a butt-kicking contest.

How's he doing and who should replace him when his term in office ends?

Not too well. I wish he would have created a single payer system instead of the ACA. I wish he had cut military spending by at least 10%. I wish he had really pulled us out of the military action in the middle east and attempted to block any further involvement in other countries.

His green energy bills were weak at best. There needs to be large scale subsidies that replace the big oil subsidies. At least for the next few years.

He should have done a lot more to try and get Marriage equality as a national law rather than a state one.

He should have appointed more female members to his cabinet, especially in his second term.

The web site messed up..not to make excuses but he didn't exactly get help from the states.(the same states who want LESS government) I think in the long run after the kinks it will be successful and I spit in the faces of those who threw a what is that ? A wrench in the wheel?

By Jan 1 I am going to get insurance for my family of 4 under ACA ...And save money.

If I can not aquire what is considered affordable insurance under ACA I will tell the truth .So far I can not log in .

You might try this link and see what you can expect. No going to guarantee it will be totally valid but it is a start

I have done that. According to it insurance under ACA is mouth watering. We are self employed.

Likewise, my wife is self-employed, and her coverage will vastly improve for the same premium she was paying before, which will help us a lot since she is now pregnant.

Prit much.
Actually, i believed there was a very real chance that he would be assassinated before now.
I really hoped he would have done more, but the pugs broke all records in halting any good thing he proposed.

Congratulations! and good luck! : hamster :

Not too well. I wish he would have created a single payer system instead of the ACA.

I agree that is what he should have created but creating it and getting it passed is another thing.

I wish he had cut military spending by at least 10%.
Personally I think it needs to be cut more than that. I'd be interested in seeing how much the Republican Sequester has cut over all.

I wish he had really pulled us out of the military action in the middle east and attempted to block any further involvement in other countries.
I agree with the last past all the way. As far as getting out of the ME...well it takes time to get out of there but we do need to drawn down a little faster IMO.

His green energy bills were weak at best.
Many initiatives were good..but could have been better.

There needs to be large scale subsidies that replace the big oil subsidies. At least for the next few years.
IMO...big oil doesn't need any subsidies.

He should have done a lot more to try and get Marriage equality as a national law rather than a state one.
IMO he's done more and made more progress than any other President. Passing it nationally wouldn't have gone over very well in the SCOTUS. States are moving right along on the front...(Welcome NJ)...:p

He should have appointed more female members to his cabinet, especially in his second term.
I see your point here. And I agree to an extent....but he's actually appointed more females and has been more diverse than any other....

Fine, much as I expected. Government doesn't do anything for me anyway whether its Republican or Democrat.

I voted independent his first term but the tea party and the republican party forced my hand in voting for Obama the second time.

The Tea party has firmed my decision to vote Democrat until they are no long a threat in the republican party. I do not Care who the Democrat is that is running I will not support the Tea party by voting independent.

It's hard for me to gauge how he's doing, for two reasons.

First, I knew that he wasn't as liberal as I am (and certainly not as liberal as the media made him out to be) when I voted for him. So a "success" for Obama might be a "failure" for me.

Second, the opposition has become so extreme, that it's hard to gauge what the bar should be for "success". In a vacuum, the Affordable Care Act was a failure for liberal health care reform. In the context of the hysterical opposition, it's a miracle ANY reform associated with Obama is still alive. Just keeping the likes of Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and Rand Paul and their "47 percent" and "death panels" nonsense out of office, to me, is a big relief in itself.

I guess if I must answer, I would say he's done well in the context of what he stands for and determined opposition from the Right.

Who should replace him? I haven't a clue.
