Toddler With Cancer

Two days ago, I received the horrible news that my 2 and a half year old niece, Nieva, (pronounced just like the Spanish word for "It's snowing") has Leukemia (ALL). She's begun treatment, and the prognosis is overall good. That doesn't make this any less terrifying for the family. This sweet kid has been sick for months and no one could figure out why. Her face began swelling up at random times, and last weekend her puffy face never did go back to normal.

If prayer's your thing, the family would definitely appreciate it. Or positive energy, or Reiki, good vibes, or what have you. I hardly post here anymore, but I felt led to come here and share.

Thank you. Bright blessings.

so sad...
However most children recover from it now.
But it will be hard on you all.
God will do what should be done.

Nieva is such a pretty name. Cancer can be defeated! It's a terrible thing for a toddler to get cancer, but being so young I can't help but think that she'll overcome her disease and thrive. Best wishes from a fellow South Dakotan.

Very sorry to hear of this. Keep up treatments, and the fact she's so young might be in her favor in combating Leukemia. Best wishes in that she recovers and lives a good life.

Keeping you all in my thoughts. This is a scary diagnosis, and especially since it's your tiny niece.

Pay attention to the fact that her prognosis is good and that she has an entire family and team of professionals who will be there for her. Big hugs! :flower:
