Tongue Speaking not needed today

Muffled

Jesus in me
I have. I've also read papers on it.

I want to make it clear that I do not assume *everyone* who "speaks" in tongues is lying. They probably believe they're doing something 100% legit. But that doesn't change the fact that if "Tongues" were a language, there would be obvious similarities between everyone who "speaks" it. If they were speaking the same language, it would be obvious. But it isn't. There is no similarities between them.

I believe there is no doubt some people do gibberish because there is pressure on them to speak in tongues so they do their best from their own mind.

I believe therein lies your problem because tongues is literally plural.

I wouldn't be surprised if those papers were written by people who didn't have a clue about spiritual matters.

Have you ever heard Hawaian? It sounds like all vowels. Sometimes tongues can sound like that but my tongue doesn't. And there have been times when my tongue was oriental in sound.
My tongue has a translation so the question is why would it look unstructured to you any more than the translation?

If there is so much difference between them, and everyone "speaks" a different one, there is no hope of actual outside translation because you're breaking all the rules of linguistics.

I'm sorry, but a language is a language or it isn't. They follow rules. There is no "spiritual exemption" for languages. We are not going to rewrite all the rules of linguistics to cover what you claim is a language when it shares none of the features we defined as a language. You can gripe and moan that isn't fair, but thems the breaks.

A vowel language still has structure.

I believe in some cases that is the point ie that the language can only be understood by someone in the Spirit.

I don't believe there is a law that people can't speak different languages.

I believe it follows the rules so that makes it a language.

That doesn't sound the least bit fishy or questionable to you? Question, what do you think of the story behind the Book of Mormon? Specifically, Joseph Smith's claims regarding the translation and such, and how he and only he(with his magic rock) could do it? Because that's basically what you're telling me here.

I don't believe there is a law that people can't speak different languages.

Course you can. The problem is that we don't have any outside proof these exist as anything but unintelligible mumbling.

You believe it follows the rules. Linguists who have observed "Tongues" have, each time, said that it is not a language.
