"became martyr". What does that mean? Do you think he is now up in Muslim heaven with 7 (or 72 ) virgins and young boys to attend to his needs?

In Iran a martyr is a good man/woman whom is killed by tyrants and terrorists like Trump.
Your saying is indeed the reflection of a version of Islam which is shown to you in your media.

Your Quran and your hadiths...

The Quran, chapter 3 (Al Imran), verse 169–170:[7]

Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord; They rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah.

The Quran, chapter 9 (At-Tawba), verse 111:[8]

Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise):

The Quran, chapter 22 (Al-Hajj), verse 58–59:[9]

Those who leave their homes in the cause of Allah, and are then slain or die,- On them will Allah bestow verily a goodly Provision: Truly Allah is He Who bestows the best provision. Verily He will admit them to a place with which they shall be well pleased:

  1. "Ali reported that the Apostle of Allah said, "There is in Paradise a market wherein there will be no buying or selling, but will consist of men and women. When a man desires a beauty, he will have intercourse with them." - Al Hadis, Vol. 4, p. 172, No. 34
  2. 7.0 7.1 "A man asked the Prophet : 0 Prophet of God, will the inmates of Paradise have sexual intercourse ? He said: Anybody among them will be given sexual strength of seven, persons among you. The Prophet said : An inmate of Paradise will have five hundred hurs, four thousand unmarried women and eight thousand widowed women. Each of them will keep embracing him for the duration of his whole worldly life time. He also said: There will be markets in Paradise in which there will be no buy and sale, but there will be men and women. If any man will wish to have sexual intercourse with a woman, he will do at once. The Hurs will sing in Paradise on divine purity and praise-we are most beautiful Hurs and we are for the honoured husbands.", Al Ghazzali, "Ihya Uloom Ed-Din (The Revival of the Religious Sciences) Vol. 4", Death and Subsequent Events 430 (archived)

Skanky Old Mongrel!
Who pulls the strings on many extremist groups around the world? Iran.
No.
I seem to remember that the worst attacks on US soil were initiated by other Islamic countries
And there was Cambodia.
And Serbia
It goes on

Iran is almost isolated as a Shia Islamic country . But Iran did not give birth to ISIS, Iran fought ISIS with western and russian forces.

In a long lasting semi-cold war with the USA, each side will use means
available to them. For us: missiles, bombs, cyber, chemical, biological,
& proxies. Iran is relatively lacking in those areas, so they use what they
can. It's the height of folly hypocrisy for us to expect that our enemies
must fight us on terms we dictate. They will do what they deem necessary
to survive our onslaught. We should anticipate this.
The trick is for us to inspire peace instead of war.

Iran never responds by threatening to kill civilians.

I live in Iran and I do not hear that any one says Iran must kill American cicilians.
This whole kerfuffel began when Iranians killed a civilian contractor. A Civilian Contractor.

What can I say to brainwashed people? Nothing.
That's really funny. You live in Iran and you think people in the US are brainwashed? That's really funny.

You have had your religion beaten into your head since the day you were born. You live in a country that is run by theologians. You live in a country where women are told how to dress, where to walk and with whom they can talk.

Brainwashing can happen anywhere.
Just look at all the posters on RF who buy the fiction that war
can consist of easy surgical strikes. Or that enemies cannot
be reasoned with, & must be crushed militarily.

I just realized that the guy in my avatar killed the guy in your avatar:(

It's a violation of human rights to order rape, torture, and genocide.
He deserved worse than what he got

So, you are OK with our country ignoring international law because other countries ignore international law.

Apparently, you approve of Trump setting a modern-day precedent permitting assassinations. I guess that would include Der Donald, his wife, and his kids.

Are you really going to compare the religious and political brainwashing that takes place in places like Iran with what happens in this country?

I'm telling you that propaganda is everywhere.
Watch out for it.
Do you disagree?

Note also that our propaganda is associated with
killing far far more people than is Iranian propaganda.

Do try to understand the context.
The context is "The USA has been killing Iranians for decades".

Now they don't have to put up with American crap, the way they did in the 80s. They've been preparing for the U.S. attack ever since.

For good reasons. Doesn't matter that low information Americans think that this all started during the last news propoganda show that they remember. It didn't.

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
Do try to understand the context.

I was replying to mojtaba's ridiculous assertion that Iran isn't in the business of killing civilians:
Yeah, comparing Iran's civilian body count with America's... probably not a thread you want to pull at too hard...

Always tickles me when Americans think they aren't brainwashed. If someone showed you a video of kids pledging the flag, and told you it was North Korea, you'd be incensed at the "brainwashing". Seriously, you don't have to go far to see it. Just look to any of our forum Usual Suspects who are committed to supporting their president, military and police, right or wrong.

Do you actually think that the U.S. and other countries haven't assasinated or attempted to assasinate? Castro is an obvious one that comes to mind, all done in the dark.
You cry for the Iranian war criminal, I won't

Iranians understand what they face and are unitedly against it. No brain washing is required. They can sort out whether burqa is good or bad at a later date. Skimpy clothes and women wandering at night is not correct in many cultures. It is so in India too.

International law aside, there also has been a U.S. executive order in place since 1976 forbidding the U.S. from carrying out political assassinations. The order came into being after revelations that the CIA had organized or sanctioned assassination attempts against foreign leaders including Fidel Castro.
Not just Fidel Castro, but others as well, Lumamba, Allende, though I do not remember the whole of it.
Your Quran and your hadiths.
Is that strange. We all call people who die for our cause as martyrs - Arlington.
I think the hope is to see a less adept and capable general as the replacement.
What if the new one is better at these things? :D
