I couldnt agree with you more! Its pathetic how people doesn't recognize this as a clear double standard. If they hold each person at gunpoint and demand the bibles and order them to take the porns, then that's another issue. Nothing is wrong with acting in a way that a particular religious group would not want you to act (unless you are a member of that group).

It seems to me that the point they are trying to make is that the bible is no better than porn. Not only is this highly insulting and graetly disrespecful to the religions that follow the bible(Christianity isn't the only religion that follows the bible) but it's also patently false. regardless of your religion or lack there of anyone who objectively and thoughtfully reads the bible can see that there is a great deal wisdom within it's pages and even if you believe it's false it's still a great story(or bunch of stories). You don't find that in porn. The Christian religion may have a few crazies in it but then so does every religion or non-religion. That doesn't make the religion itself garbage nor does it make the religious texts it follows "smut".

Actually, they were taking any sacred text offered, and reporting receiving a couple of Qur'ans and a Satanic Bible as well as Christian Bibles.
It's false in your opinion. Many people would say that pornography is far preferable to the violence, xenophobia, hatred, coercion and ignorance to be found in the Bible.

Yes, some people are not intellectually or artistically developed enough to appreciate a work for its enduring ability to inspire people over a wide swath of time and geography, but may contain some negative aspects. Religious texts are not the only media with violence, xenophobia, hatred, coercion and ignorance. Indeed, if we were to purify all of our poetry, philosophy, music, plays, movies and etc from the glorification of vice, we would be left with just about nothing.
The stupid, idiotic, slugish, anti-humanistic slimeballs who are doing this are doing nothing but illustrating how completely bereft of any kind of sophistication that they really are.
And, by the way, the worms who would say that pornography is far preferable to... belong in the same class of slug who is doing this stupid thing. Let them rot together in their self-righteous stupid ignorance.
