Transexual/gender people encouraged to be Priests

Secret Chief

Very strong language
C of E has a diversity drive...

Thoughts?

'Bishops in the diocese of Lichfield have issued new guidance in a letter to parishioners and clergy reminding them that LGBT people 'can be called to roles of leadership and service in the local church'.

The guidance, titled 'welcoming and honouring LGBT+ people', warns that the church's reputation as being unwelcoming towards gay and transgender people is causing young people to stay away
.'

Taken them long enough to realise bigotry repels.

And then they all left Him when they realized He intended for them to change their behavior.
And even those who stayed obviously had no intention of changing their behavior, as Christians still fill our prisons, our divorce courts, and our bigoted, racist political parties.
For many are called, but few chosen.
Matt. 22:14
Thanx for admitting the exclusionary nature of a religion that claims that the free gift of Grace requires no actions beyond belief. The rapist, the child molester.... all can receive the free gift of Grace - or not.

I'm sorry the sarcasm was lost on you. But yeah, I LUV the teachings attributed to Christ. I just wish I could meet a Christian that followed those teachings. I'm still searching however. It's only been 54 years now.
Then follow His teachings, and show the rest of us how it's done.

Why would anyone have to show Christians how to follow the simple teachings of Jesus??

How do the teachings below lead the good Christian politicians of Texas to show contempt for the lives of children by putting up razor wire?
How do they lead Christians to demonize trans children?
How do they lead pastors to seek to become millionaires?
How do they lead Christians to attack police officers in our Capitol?

I have never had too much trouble living my life with these guiding principles. I certainly have fallen short from time to time. Why do Christians fall short so often?

  • Everyone should develop brotherhood feelings about others.
  • Loving the people who are in distress is equal to worshipping God.
  • One should serve others without expecting anything from them.
  • Serving people is equal to the worship of God.

Then don't follow Christ's followers. Follow Christ. You say it's so simple, so do it.

I follow his teachings. At least better than the thousands of Christians I have met. How about you?

So you've judged yourself to be a better follower than all of the thousands you've met? No doubt you'll judge me to follow in an inferior way compared to your as well, if you were to meet me.
BTW, what was His teaching concerning the judging of others?

He taught 2 things - That judging in condemnation is bad, and that judging in discernment is good.

So when a Christian judges trans people as anywhere from 'confused' to 'evil' - that would appear to be the 'bad' judging.
When I judge that the Christians I know don't seem to be following the teachings of Jesus very well - that's the other kind.

I have already stated that I fail from time to time to follow those teachings. I'm wondering why so many Christians seem to struggle more than I do.

I guess we just can't measure up to your superiority.

So transsexualism keeps you from honoring the teachings of Jesus …. how exactly?
