Just to be fair, I don't recall the Right going on multi-city protests, smashing windows, destroying cars, assaulting people and acting like total baffoons on TV with their stupid rhetoric and chants of "not my president."​

Addendum: the irony is that if those people live here in the USA, Trump WILL be their president whether they like it or not. There have been presidents that I do not like. But I know that nothing I do will change the fact that they were the ones sworn into office. I watch and see what they do, and then vote accordingly in 4 years.

C'mon people, this is not rocket science

It's not: it's simple corporate greed aka capitalism. Not necessarily a bad thing, but their bottom line IS their only real guideline in setting prices.

The problem has never been keeping jobs here. That is a laudable goal in and of itself.

Pissing off Mexico could have repercussions but we can probably handle that.

The danger is when he starts pulling this stuff with companies who manufacture in China. Our country would be sent into a depression if a trade war with China happens. It's also doubtful we would come out ahead in such a conflict as we have lost much of the capacity to quickly pick up the pieces in such a situation.

Sometimes, a company will drop prices in order to gain sales.
The famous example is Ford's introduction of the Model T.

No, you misunderstood what I wrote. That, or you're taking exception just to take exception. As I wrote: it's all about the bottom line. Loss leaders and inflated prices both are used to make a company more profitable. Just a different approach. To think that every decrease in production costs results in a commensurate reduction in consumer's pricing is a a misunderstanding of the process.
