Trump’s Long Fascination With Genes and Bloodlines Gets New Scrutiny

The former president’s remark about undocumented immigrants “poisoning the blood” of the country is one of several comments he’s made over the years regarding “good genes.”

In 2020, President Donald J. Trump gave a campaign speech in Minnesota railing against refugees and criticizing protests for racial justice. Toward the end, he wrapped up with standard lines from his stump speech and praise for the state’s pioneer lineage.

Then, Mr. Trump stopped to address his crowd of Minnesota supporters with an aside seeming to invoke a theory of genetic superiority.

“You have good genes, you know that, right? You have good genes. A lot of it is about the genes, isn’t it, don’t you believe?” Mr. Trump told the audience. “The racehorse theory, you think we’re so different? You have good genes in Minnesota.”

Mr. Trump’s mention of the racehorse theory — the idea adapted from horse breeding that good bloodlines produce superior offspring — reflected a focus on bloodlines and genetics that Mr. Trump has had for decades, and one that has received renewed attention and scrutiny in his third bid for president.

In recent months, Mr. Trump has drawn widespread criticism for asserting that undocumented immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country,” a phrase that he said first in a right-wing media interview and has in the last week repeated on the campaign trail.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I wouldn't use eugenics to demonize a race, but eugenics is a valid way to make sure humans have the best traits to be as much of a success as they can.

And undocumented hence illegals are poisonous to this country, but I don't see the connection to eugenics as some people like to allude towards in order to make cheap political points.

Do you favor a eugenics based approach to immigration?
Genetic testing, or just prohibiting people from countries
with obviously inferior people?

Are you speaking of Trump, making "cheap political points"
with the bigoted wings of his Magas?

That's just you alluding those things. Maybe you should ask yourself why you even bother to make up those clearly ridiculous queries.

Wow. just how far out. Never mind.

Natural section vs. human selection utilizing logic or preferences in traits...Meh!

I've understood there to be some controversy surrounding drug addicts and deselection practices because of the "genetic" malfunction, all while I'm watching Ken hit the skill training hard and with a passion no less intense than that his addiction garnered from his will.

Are you referring to the three poisons of greed, hatred, and delusion here?

@Revoltingest Selective pressure in modern society is constantly at work, so I don't even know if eugenics is even needed, since maybe somethng like is always happening, or always was passively happening? You've probably noticed there are some people, maybe a lot of people, that aren't exactly thriving in modern society. Take a look a the 'soft white underbelly' youtube channel for example. There are people who don't pass on their genes. There are people who sadly die in auto accidents, or as a result of some other technology-based accident. There are people who can't learn to drive, or socialize, or function that well.

In modern society there are plenty of novel bars to vault over, and I don't know what percentage of people get in on the general modern lofty dream

As for actual gene-editing, I think that's coming round the bend eventually. I don't know what to say on that really, but I can sense that it will likely be used..

Nope. It's for protection, lawfulnes, and fairness.
You do know the ancient traditions of offering hospitality to strangers and refugees is for protection of the community to keep the refugees from acting out of desperation?

Isn't DEI based on that same principle, but reversed in the direction of dumb down? We can see a deterioration in Government response times due to DEI. When you vet people based on competence, things get better and not worse. Most "legal" immigrants do not approve of illegal immigration. The legal immigrants showed respect for their new country, by following the rules of their new country. The DNC prefers cutting the line and starting immigrants off on a criminal footing, hence the term illegal. This is why the DNC has lost 300,000 children. If these children had been vetted, they all would be safe.

Many years ago a toyed with the idea of getting a foreign bride and bringing her to the US. To do that legally, I would have had to be her sponsor and be liable for 10 years in terms of her expenses. This is why vetting is important and you don't invite criminals as did the DNC and then expect the tax payer to cover the tab. Legal immigration is designed to be a smooth transition for people who can become part of the solution and not part of a problem.

Have you heard the latest about FEMA and illegal immigrant. The Inspector General that over sees FEMA and other agencies discovered that FEMA has been sitting on a large pile of money. It is money from previous disasters that was not spent. There is a least $8 billion that can be used right away for upcoming hurricane emergencies, and not for the DNC immigrant slush fund.

What happens is Agencies like FEMA, make exaggerated claims of need, to grow Government, and Congress does not scrutinize the request well enough; thieve and incompetence. The extra money has to be hidden, or else you will get less the next time. FEMA has gamed the system for some time, with some of that surplus money doing back 20 years. It is hard to tell just how much has been ripped off over the years. This is part of the ripping off of the tax payers.

Watchdog found $7B in untapped FEMA funds — even though DHS Secretary Mayorkas said none available for future disasters

Stop listening to the BS Trump tells you people.
He's a pathological liar.

FEMA didn't spend all their money on illegal immigrants. Trump told you they did and you ate it up because you're in a cult and he's pushing xenophobia, hate and division during a very difficult time for people, BECAUSE HE'S A TERRIBLE LEADER. Who lies constantly and irresponsibly and gets people hurt.

No we don't. We have America because of vetted migrants.

If you think this then you really have no idea of America's history when it comes to immigration. There's been free flow between Mexico and the USA up until the 1920s-30s, and even then it wasn't really tamped down into what we see today until recent decades. Also when my ancestors arrived at Ellis Island all it took was a ticket on a boat and a name change - there was no vetting

Isn't DEI based on that same principle....
No. Whether one believes it's right, wrong, or complicated,
it's about entirely different things, eg, creating an environment
wherein diversity is tolerated more, giving a leg up to those
who are disadvantaged.
Nothing at all to do with genetics or eugenics.

Edit....
IMO, DEI can be practiced rationally. Don't give
jobs / positions to unqualified people just because
they fill a quota. Consider unconventional factors
to discern applicants who could perform well.

Nice way to create a dangerous risk for other people.

Sorry. I'm not giving unvetted people a pass.
