Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I'm not going to shed any tears over the Saudis if and when it comes down to it.

They hate our guts anyways.

Trump has repeatedly stated that he believes Putin regarding Russian Election meddling.
Trump has already stated that the Saudi ruler has denied all involvement.

Trump is deeply indebted (as in owed favors) to the Saudi royal family and any "punishment" will be nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Congress will do nothing.

I'll believe it when I see it. Given both the US generally, and Trump specifically's history on dealing with the Saudis, I shan't hold my breath.

Here's my impression of the US' "severe punishment" of Saud in the past;

*17 out of 19 Saudis hijack planes and crash them into the WTC and Pentagon, with Saudi intelligence and financial assistance*

US: *blink blink* "Better attack Iraq!"

I won't either. They have gotten a pass due to their oil for far too long.

It was also said the US is selling much over 100 billion $ worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia so they can fight in Yemen. Trump won't be happy if they only sell 11B$ of arms there. Think how many schools or healthcare centers you could build with 100B$?

I am not so sure about that. A war can be handy at times, especially if one is about to be impeached.

I'd say the probability of that happening is slightly lower than Trump riding a unicycle on stage at his next rally while profusely apologising for all of the times that he has overestimated his personal intellect.

Personally I'M surprised the aforementioned war on Venezuela hasn't started yet. I hope you're right.

He has already stated that if we don't sell the arms to the Saudi's, the Chinese or the Russians will. Also, he doesn't want to jeopardize the jobs of thousands of US workers.

Yeah, well if the Russians or Chinese are gunna do it anyway, that makes it ok then. Heck, we may as well offer to kill some of their political dissidents for them, since they're just going to do it anyway. Manufacturing execution methods for them will employ Americans too!

Congress will whine a bit for forms sake. I'd be shocked if they actually did anything meaningful.

Yes they always use excuses like this to make it seem like they cared in the first place that those weapons are being used in the world's biggest humanitarian catastrophe at the moment. Why let Chinese and Russians get the bad press, when you can have that and money too...
