Yep, and my train periodically gets "derailed" as well, and it ain't always an age thingy.
But let's also face the reality that the Trump defenders are now especially grasping at straws to try and avoid admitting that Trump's performance was worse than "childish" and more than "nauseating"-- it was utterly disgraceful, and even many Pubs have criticized it.
I was amused at Nancy Pelosi's remark, that she hopes that "Republicans will take their party back -- we need a strong Republican Party."
And this is exactly what the Lincoln Project is trying to do -- to take back the party for honest Republicans.
I have a democratic mind-set, and I think that every government needs a strong opposition, with both the right and the will to make their objections to government policy known.
But meantime, yes, Trump was totally disgusting, totally unpresidential, and more to the point, totally childish.
But what I honestly think I'm seeing? I'm seeing a man who is terrified about what comes next -- how he's going to pay down the $300-plus million in loans coming due, how he's going to extricate himself from the many legal problems he faces (especially from SDNY) when he is no longer unable to be indicted. His angst levels must be right through the White House roof!
