Trump presidential debate

Then why call it a debate, when it's actually a cross examination interview?

...The reality is that Biden forgets his train of thought when he gets interrupted. That's sad, but it's not Trump's fault.
I do that, too, from time to time, and nobody has called me senile yet. I'm still gainfully employed in a business that is primarily cerebral.

Yep, and my train periodically gets "derailed" as well, and it ain't always an age thingy.

But let's also face the reality that the Trump defenders are now especially grasping at straws to try and avoid admitting that Trump's performance was worse than "childish" and more than "nauseating"-- it was utterly disgraceful, and even many Pubs have criticized it.

They are going to start turning the mic off after 2 minutes so there wont be all the disruptions.

I'm still not sure that'll stop Trump.

I think we might see a tamer Trump at the next debate. I believe he was advised to act the way he did. I heard that it was Julianne prepped him, at least he took credit for it before the debate. I believe the plan was to get Biden so frustrated that he would seem to loose it. So I guess now its plan B.

I was amused at Nancy Pelosi's remark, that she hopes that "Republicans will take their party back -- we need a strong Republican Party."

And this is exactly what the Lincoln Project is trying to do -- to take back the party for honest Republicans.

I have a democratic mind-set, and I think that every government needs a strong opposition, with both the right and the will to make their objections to government policy known.

But meantime, yes, Trump was totally disgusting, totally unpresidential, and more to the point, totally childish.

But what I honestly think I'm seeing? I'm seeing a man who is terrified about what comes next -- how he's going to pay down the $300-plus million in loans coming due, how he's going to extricate himself from the many legal problems he faces (especially from SDNY) when he is no longer unable to be indicted. His angst levels must be right through the White House roof!

This is so true, it does not get enough attention. Do Republicans not realize they can do much, much better than this guy? Do they not realize they are hurting themselves and the country?

I would love one day to see a vigorous debate between liberal and conservative approaches to the issues, and may the best ideas win. I hope my ideas win. But I also hope the alternative is at least a serious idea and not nonsense from a bat**** crazy orange baby.

Trump handled Biden... By the next debate, I expect we'll see Biden himself slurping on his new daddy Tump's boots.
Cooky, could you please make a list of three or four things Trump might do that you wouldn’t defend, minimize or excuse?

I want to have it on record as I think that will be the only way to make you think more before doing this, next time.

Feel free to be as creative as you want. Who could have possibly imagined a few weeks ago, for example, that Trump would get himself infected and then walk back into the WH without a mask while still potentially contagious. I wouldn’t put anything past Trump at this point and I genuinely want to know where you draw the line - before it happens.
