Trump pulls Troops out of Syria

I know Trumpers will always say have you read your own source.There are several sources for this including Trumps own tweets.But no I do not have much knowledge on the military.

From what I understand,this could be wrong I am not saying its fact, according to one of the Republican Senators he said the Repuclican's and Dems stood up to Trump and said this is wrong.

2 Republican senators Jim Mattis one of them and they said he should have gone to Congress and did not actually go through the proper channel,s. The Securtiy people are trying to figure out whats going on he onfused some of the Military security people. I'm bad about knowing a lot of his,

Again before Trumpers tell me how dumb I am,I am very dumb when it comes to this stuff.I am not spitting out facts, its just opinions on what I am seeing, he seems to have the white house up in arms.

I hope you realize that James (Jim) is the Secretary of Defense not a Senator. Then again maybe you don't, seems like at times you post without checking.

I do I read it.Whats wrong with Secretary of Defense,I said my post maybe abit off. The secretary of Defense is not a person who should be sneazed at. Also the senators at breakfast raked pence over the coals all the Republicans are mad about it don't worry.

How disgusting that none of the pro-war crowd seemed to care about the proper channels when we were getting in to the Syrian conflict!! How come we no longer need a congressional declaration of war to start dropping bombs and firing missiles at a country or foreign military??

If there's no formal declaration of war, then the executive doesn't or at least shouldn't need any Congressional authorization to withdraw from some area we were never at war with in the first place.

Not that I expect anything to actually happen. The last two times the president talked about leaving Syria, [sarcasm]miraculously[/sarcasm] within a week there was a chemical attack, Assad was supposedly at fault, and that justified not pulling out after all.

Funny how the chemical attacks only ever seem to happen when the US talks about leaving.

I'd wager the same will happen here. A chemical attack will soon happen, Assad will be the one the media pins for the attack, and the president will back down and stay the course, dropping some bombs on Assad's forces in the process. And very few in the media will bother to question why Assad would do such a suicidal thing, or criticize the bombings. It happened the last two times, it'll probably happen again.

That being said, I'd love to be wrong on this one, and I'd love for our involvement in a war to come to an actual end. But as someone who's been anti-war for over a decade now, I've become jaded and skeptical to such promises of peace.

I understand and I have read that too. I have gotten confused almost posted the wrong source because he has threatened this in the past. However if you look at the up to date source, it says he has made the decision and ordered it it is a done deal, they are preparing to leave.

If it were just a threat security and Congress would not be all up in arms.

It is my opinion that the destruction of ISIS was never the true goal, the moral outrage card was played to convince the citizens of the U.S. to support and maintain a presence in the area all the while attempting to undermine and overthrow the Syrian government, the goal being creating a U.S. puppet state to keep the Petro dollars flowing. Once again the moral outrage card was played to the hilt by compliant media outlets to gain support of the people to justify and or get support for our presence in the region instead of telling them the ugly truth of it all. Using Claims of torture and human rights abuses even genocide as an excuse seem like a very bad joke since Syria was used by the U.S. as a place to render those we wanted tortured after 9/11.

According to the War Powers Act, he had 60 days to have troops there, with another 30 days for withdrawal. I don't know when they went in there. It looks like America mucked another one up. Some of the best clothing used to come from Syria...

The Donald is out there blaming Obama for withdrawing troops from Iraq and announcing it.
Obama only followed the set timeline Bush set for withdrawal. Won't hear GOP news mention that.

"Obama is at fault for announcing the date we left!"....well duh, both the US and Iraq agreed on the withdrawal date long before Obama came into office.

Bush 43 is where the mistake was made. I can see getting Saddam out of there, but destroying the infrastructure of Iraq ... No. Obama was "just trying to make the best of a bad situation".
