You are absolutely right, that's the plan, throw out the ballots, they're fraudulent, the states with a Republican legislature will appoint the electors to the Board of Electors who will vote in Trump, and his Supreme Court will back him up by declaring the election non binding. Ironically the electoral college was created because the original leaders did not trust the "the people" and according to the Smithsonian it was also tied up in the issue of preserving slavery in the south. It is scary that the electors do not have to listen to the peoples vote.

It doesn't matter what he tries. He won't get more than his two terms, end of story. If the DNC believed otherwise they'd be doing more to win, first of all by changing the platform to be more friendly to more voters. It seems that the DNC leaders actually don't believe Trump could get more then two terms and are willing to gamble everything on doing everything exactly like last time right down to using Bernie. Nobody believes Trump can get more than 2 terms.

That being said, I saw the soundbite where the question assumed he would lose the election and pressed him to say he'd accept peaceful transfer when he lost. Wow. He really messed up there to even entertain the idea of invalidating ballots or discounting the mail in votes.

If he wanted to be a dictator hed have seized power by now. But when it would have been the easiest he shirked it to the states and invoked and barely touched

Its easier, amd more Stone like, to just cause confusion and disorder to win. Amd because he can't even get through his briefings, he just doesn't really actually want to seem to be a dictator. He says many, many things and then does the other. His dictator-like statements seems to be more of it.

Trump has shown its far more work than he actually wants. He doesn't have the drive to govern or lead, let alone seize power.
He's a. TV star, amd drama is the world he knows, the world he can feign control in. He's an actor, saying what he knows will get people riled up.

There was a counter-argument in a liberal only thread about how the legislature could appoint one set of electors and the governor another.

Given that there is no respect for law in the current regime in power in Washington, I fully expect a Götterdämmerung or if you prefer Ragnarök.

Trump is like a guy who shows up to the table reeking of arrogance while often limping in and frequently taking loose high risk raises hoping to intimidate and bluff their way through. Smart plays are their bane, and indeed there are numerous examples where Trump has been opposed amd defied, suggesting to me his image is only widely accepted by average voters while people in DC are calling his bluffs and even forcing him to fold on some things. Because we do have plenty of documented cases where Trump kind of seems to putz around alot "on the job." Trump saves his bets for those who believe him amd fold.

If Trump and the G.O.P.were to steal this election from us Democratic socialists, then California, Oregon, and Washington ( Caloreton) might very well secede from the Banana Republic of Trumpistan. With help by Mexico along with help from China, Caloreton could become independent of Trump's dictatorial powers. Trumpistan's Supreme Court and military would be powerless to stop Caloreton's withdrawal from the Banana Republic of Trumpistan.
