I don't think I've heard anything so dumb in a very long time (except perhaps the Monte Hall thread)!

You do know that in free countries, borders are about who you keep out, rather than who you let out, don't you? (The other way about is for totalitarian regimes). Trump is essentially telling Mexico and Canada "close your borders to the people you allow to leave," rather than to those you allow in. And why? Because he's pretty sure even he won't be able to stop the leaks in his own borders that are letting people he doesn't want in.

Jeeeez, somebody should start thinking with that thing on the top of their body!

It’s going to be interesting to see how many MAGAs suck on higher prices that can actually be tied to Trump’s stupidity. Will they acknowledge it, or sink deeper in denial. I will bet they will accept the higher prices as a duty to their orange Jesus clown.

This makes my financial planning clearer - worse inflation with an economy going into recession - "stagflation" in other words. So now I can plan for a trade war with Mexico and presumably Canada as well.

Actually it is an additional 10% on Chinese imports. Additional to the existing tariffs. Also he wants the tariffs on Chinese imports to go to 60%.

Actually it is an additional 10% on Chinese imports. Additional to the existing tariffs. Also he wants the tariffs on Chinese imports to go to 60%.

Hopefully Australia will reap the benefit when China retaliates. They are our major trade partner.
