US President-elect Donald Trump will not pursue a further investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails, to help her "heal", his spokeswoman has said.

A Trump spokeswoman said he would back down from his pledge to appoint a special prosecutor to look into the former Secretary of State.
I am not sure he would have found much, but this is good form from the Trump camp. Others were not as impressed...

The right-wing Breitbart News Network, which aligned itself with the New York billionaire early in the election, swiftly decried the climb-down as a "broken promise".

If it was up to Breitbart they would have special prosecutors investigating Clinton over fake news.

They'll also never build a border wall or do anything about abortion. Homosexuals will keep getting married. Coal jobs will continue to decline. Rich people will keep getting richer and poor people won't get much more than a token hand-out. Immigrant will keep immigrating and Muslims will keep praying to Allah 5 times a day.

It must be hard...

But thank god for Donald Trump - he's the only friend we have in government! He's one of us!

Revelation all the time
Where the GOP split from Trump may still have some purpose, or how some Pub Senators may not be as forgiving of Camp Clinton and Team Trump apparently is.

Trump going after Clinton has no upside post-election. Pre-election, it certainly helped get him to the promise land (pun intended).

Trumps victory in the US election is (as has been said so often) just like Brexit; i.e. it is built on lies and promises that cannot be kept.

So was Obama's election like Brexit as well then? Or were his broken promises built on love and fairies?

As Bernie said, it would be unthinkable for a US presidential winner to imprison their opponent. That's what happens in fake democracies with presidents-for-life, not in free societies.

I mean, if their opponent did actually commit a crime though... Then what?
Putting aside the past election and just looking at it generically...this is not something where you can apply a formula. If Hillary commits a crime and is arrested and detained immediately after losing an election it is a victory for her victims but a loss for USA diplomatically; because it looks exactly like the election was a sham when that happens. It also looks downright troubling when the FBI and Congress investigate her multiple times during her political campaign. Its fair to ask "Who is running the country? Do the elections matter or does the FBI decide who wins? Is the FBI our new 4th branch?"
