Allowing gays to be open about their preference may work in a non-military setting but when you depend on each other and have to share all the facilities (showers/tents) - it is makes it a perfect ground for quarrels. It is one thing to not know and yet another thing to know.

It is a distraction and soldiers need to be free from distraction.

Soldiers need to be free from internal conflicts. It is hard to bond when you are teasing each other all day.
Do you want a well bonded group of soldiers or do you want soldiers irritated with their comrades?
Dems are the 'woke' pomoters. They need to let the nature take its course. Certain policies should not be pushed onto folks who are not ready for it. In time it can be incorporated. Soldiers from small town may need more time. Have the decency to give them more time.

Making high profile enemies in the military is such a dumb idea, putting them on the unemployment list potentially just opens them up to selling military secrets to foreign actors in my view.

But I doubt Trump thinks of consequences of his actions.

I would think the ones Trump wants out are the ethical patriots. The ones to worry about are who remain.

The big question we face is: Do senate republicans have balls?

Reporting says that Trump intends to purge anyone who worked with Mark Milley. Why? Is it a Keyser Soze thing to get rid of friends and friends of friends to make a point about not expressing personal opinions about the criminal president elect? Can the forum MAGAs explain this to us? Is this what you wanted when you cast your vote?
