There is a faction in the Libertarian party who are really authoritarians (wolves in sheep's clothing types). They managed to get enough power to invite Trump.Why was he given this opportunity to speak at the convention of another party?

The Libertarians always invite the opposing party candidates to their convention - AFAIK, Donald's the first one to accept.
... and in so doing, he's learned that "invited" doesn't necessarily mean "welcome."

I watched that all the way through only because of that. So weird to see him looking like that.
I recall that he was dismissive of classical music.

Thank you for that. It also reminded me that Kennedy had been invited as well. And yesterday I must have misread something because I thought that Kennedy had somehow won. Luckily I double checked. That is not the case. I was giving the Libertarians too little credibility with that error of mine:
