A prosecution for bribery requires evidence of a quid pro quo.
I never said Murray did anything illegal. That is the problem. As the law stands now it is perfectly legal to bribe a politician to get them to do what you want.

That is the point AOC was making here.

If you got the money you can bribe the President all you want, if you do it the right way.

No, neither the federal nor any state statue excludes the President from bribery. It is illegal for someone to offer a bribe to the President, and it is illegal for the President to enter into a quid pro quo. Indeed, if Mueller got hint of Trump's involvement in some act of bribery in connection with his investigation, he would investigate it and, if there is such evidence, would certainly include it in his report.

I didn't watch the video, but if Ocasio-Cortez actually says or indicates that the President is exempt from bribery laws, then she is extraordinarily ignorant, in fact, too ignorant to be in Congress.
