Trump would have been charged with obstruction were he not president

Who's making that claim? Just curious.

Did you hear about Jerry Falwell's suggestion Trump tack on an additional 2 years to his term to make up for "time stolen?" Apparently Trump thinks it's good enough for a retweet:

Jerry Falwell on Twitter

Donald J. Trump on Twitter
What's sad is, you linked to the real Donald Trump Twitter page after misrepresenting what he tweeted there.

This is DJT's tweet:
Despite the tremendous success that I have had as President, including perhaps the greatest ECONOMY and most successful first two years of any President in history, they have stolen two years of my (our) Presidency (Collusion Delusion) that we will never be able to get back.....

Jerry Falwell did say what he said, and Trump did think it was good enough for a retweet, because Trump retweeted Falwell's tweet and then he went on to reinforce the idea in his own words: "they have "stolen two years of my (our) Presidency..." And I provided links to both tweets.

So please point out where I misrepresented anything. Falwell actually said what I said he did, and Trump actually did what I said he did.

he's a great con artist. he'd make a great televangelist.

i think he is actually working on that right now. he needs the fundamentalists to keep him in office.

the evangelicals would crucify jesus again just to keep trump stroking their egos.

I disagree. The law disagrees. The US constitution disagrees.
He and the press (and social media) conned him into office, and enough people were easy marks that he was elected president. Fine.
And you are partially right. No justice unless Congress impeaches him (in this term).
Once he’s impeached out of office, he gets indicted and brought for a fair trial.
If they don’t impeach him, then he stays in office, with him and his fanatical sycophant base laughing their way to the election. But once he is voted out, then he gets indicted and brought for a fair trial.
That is what the law and the constitution demand.
That may be. There is also the issue of popularity. He's quite popular with a very large number of Americans, and they absolutely do not care about these terrible crimes that the other political party finds to be condemning. The sides have been crying wolf for so long that I simply don't believe any of it. I have tried looking at both sides, and they are both rotten to the core. They're rotten, rotten to the core and have no foot to stand on when talking about Trump or Obama or Bush or Hillary. They are unconscionably wicked. If they told me the building was on fire I'd start making a sandwich, because that's what they've been saying for the 45 years of my life. "The building is one fire! We're going down now!" Do you ever get tired of the same old adrenaline injection every day of every year? I simply don't believe it anymore.

I didn't misrepresent a thing. Trump didn't actually do what you claimed he did.
Trump actually tweeted what I copied and pasted from his Twitter page that you linked. And just so you know, Falwell has been dead for years! He did not say a damn thing on Twitter about Trump's Presidency.

Falwell Jr. Said this on the Twitter link you shared:

Jerry Falwell
@JerryFalwellJr

After the best week ever for @realDonaldTrump - no obstruction, no collusion, NYT admits @BarackObama did spy on his campaign, & the economy is soaring. I now support reparations-Trump should have 2 yrs added to his 1st term as pay back for time stolen by this corrupt failed coup

This is Trump's tweet.
Despite the tremendous success that I have had as President, including perhaps the greatest ECONOMY and most successful first two years of any President in history, they have stolen two years of my (our) Presidency (Collusion Delusion) that we will never be able to get back...

Not a thing there about agreeing with Falwell Jr. about adding two years onto his Presidency.

ARe you saying we can get impeachment proceedings from this?

I'm hoping the House will conduct hearings which will lead to an impeachment. I don't expect Trump to be convicted in the Senate, but I want him to go down in history as the third president to be impeached - and why.

he still could be charged after he leaves office.

I support the two term limit for Trump- the first one in office, then one in prison.

This is dangerous and unwise. You should not threaten to charge a president after they leave office. The #1 job of the president is to leave office at the end of their term, and you are discouraging them from doing so if you threaten to charge them when they are done.

What's dangerous is to take a casual approach to Trump. He's a major security risk to all Americans. Something needs to be done with him, and quickly. Trump with his unsecured phone line and secret conversations with Putin, as well as the Republican indifference to American election fraud from foreign entities and giving security clearances to the likes of Kushner are the main danger to US security. The invaders aren't at the southern border. They're in America's computers.

America is at risk for having its systems hacked, which can result in banking chaos, shutting down power grids, choosing America's "elected" officials for it, air traffic disasters, American nukes tampered with, hijinx in low earth orbit (satellites), and more. It's only a matter of time if effective defenses aren't instituted, and Trump isn't interested in diminishing risk because Putin isn't.

This needs to be addressed swiftly and definitively.

Besides, let Trump refuse to leave office. I welcome it. Picture day one of the next president's term in office, with private citizen Trump trespassing and refusing to leave. Picture the Sergeant-at-arms frog marching him out handcuffed and throwing him in slam.

The whole thing is asinine to begin with. If the 'Mueller standard' was employed during Obama's regime.... Using Mueller’s Standard, Did Obama Obstruct Justice? - Ricochet Not a peep made about it then. Not a peep should be made about it now.

That's the legal system's call, isn't it? If it chooses to see one president as law abiding and his successor as a criminal, they response to each should be different.

And yet....he's still there in the Oval Office...laughing at you...

We'll see who gets the last laugh.

The Roman Republic fell because senators were using this against one another, and the moment one senator came out of office they became the target of numerous lawsuits. Similarly the Caesars feared to give up their power, because they'd be prosecuted as a result. Hence if Congress isn't going to impeach the president while he's in office he ought to be left alone. If Congress won't do it, then don't do it yourself. He's been elected to be the enforcer of the law. Its all decided already.

Disagree. Enforce the rule of law and demonstrate to the world that America respects it, or don't and demonstrate the opposite. The world is watching to see whether America is still fit to lead the free world. I have my doubts.

What would you have him impeached on?

Take your pick. From Trump has continued to obstruct justice - Need to Impeach

Here is a small sample of the times Trump obstructed justice:
  • Trump told then FBI Director James Comey, “I need loyalty. I expect loyalty.”
  • Trump asked Comey to abandon the Russia investigation and let Michael Flynn go.
  • Trump ordered White House Counsel Don McGahn to stop Attorney General Jeff Sessions from recusing himself in the Russia investigation.
  • Trump asked Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and Director of the National Security Agency Michael Rogers to publicly deny there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russians.
  • Trump fired Comey, explaining that he said to himself, “you know, this Russia thing, with Trump and Russia, is a made-up story.”
  • Trump tried to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller
Or, as Newt Gingrich said regarding Clinton's impeachment, impeach him because they can.

This is a cold war. This is the Republicans :

John Boehner offering his plans for Obama’s agenda as the incoming House Speaker: “We're going to do everything - and I mean everything we can do — to kill it, stop it, slow it down, whatever we can.”

Sounds like a plan for the Democrats.

“Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell summed up his plan to National Journal: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” -from HERE

Why should Trump or any Republican be treated any better? Can any conservative American reading these words answer that?

Yeah, probably no sitting president could at this time take over -- except Obama. You know he hates America and is working on some evil scheme even as we speak.

List the crimes in evidence.
Consider this that every day of every year for 45 years there has been someone on TV talking about the disastrous actions of a president or candidate. It never stops. I won't spend another drop of my precious adrenaline. I listen to foreign news now. I avoid the crap they try to push on me here.

BSM1

What? Me worry?
It is rather obvious that he is guilty of several crimes to those that are not heavy Kool-Aid drinkers. The problem is do these crimes rise to the level of being "high crimes and misdemeanors". Since the Republican controlled Senate would need to be convinced first I would say "No". He could be impeached just as Clinton was. That did not do the Republicans and good and I do not think that impeaching Trump would do the Democrats any good. But that is no excuse to drop the investigation. As more of it becomes public Trump looks worse and worse (as if that were possible). Trump knows that this harms him. As long as the Democrats keep a cool head and properly investigate Trump it will only sink the Republicans further. They may realize this themselves and begin proceedings if they ever see the writing on the wall.

Would you mind listing a couple of those "obvious" crimes?

I watch One America News after my best friend turned me toward that channel . Credible news is part of their tag line. They're unbiased. No partisanship in their reporting. Just straight news.

True, political vitriol has existed since the invention of politics in this country. However, I would suggest there hasn't been a public soft coupe agenda on display here until Trump took the office. Hillary appeared to be a sure thing due to her tenure in politics.
One of the reasons I think the Democrats are so opposed to Trump is that they consider him a turn coat. Trump was a Democrat before he became a Republican and ran for the highest office. And that being the first time he ever entered the political arena.

The old dogs on both sides of the aisle hate Trump because he does not capitulate as did other career politicians in the office he now holds. He doesn't play their game. He doesn't sell out for money because he's rich and won't be bought. If Trump played the way the other career politicians did holding that same office he'd have to show he doesn't think about that future. He thinks about his wallet. Trump's wallet is larger than any Democrats.

I think that is part of why the Democrats harp on wanting to see his tax returns. When it has been tradition to reveal them and is not a law.

This is a guy who put his name on those things he built in Manhattan. "TRUMP" occupies the Manhattan skyline with the construction of his buildings there. Now he's leaving TRUMP on American history. And his responsibility as President is to leave a secure and free country to his children and grandchildren. And to the American people.
