Trump's Instruction to Neo-Nazis: Stand Back and Stand By,

Finally, detente!
Finally!

So will you give Joe Biden credit right now for what he said below, since that’s exactly what he did? ;)

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said he condemns violence "across the board," including from Antifa, when he was asked about it during a local TV interviewMonday.

"I've condemned it across the board," Biden told Pennsylvania's WGAL News 8 in an interview Monday, referring to violence during protests.
...
"Do you condemn Antifa?" reporter Barbara Barr asked Biden.

"Yes, I do, violence no matter who it is,"
he replied.

And to derail any hope and support for progress, the senseless violence of looting and burning and destruction of property. I want to make it absolutely clear, so I’m going to be very clear about all of this, rioting is not protesting. Looting is not protesting. Setting fires is not protesting. None of this is protesting. It’s lawlessness, plain and simple. And those who do it should be prosecuted. Violence will not bring change, it will only bring destruction. It’s wrong in every way. It divides instead of unites, destroys businesses, only hurts the working families that serve the community. It makes things worse across the board, not better. It’s not what Dr. King or John Lewis taught and it must end.
...
And one you should listen to is Julia Jackson, the mother of Jacob Blake. Hers is a voice of courage, character and wisdom.

Looking at the damage that has been done in her city, she said, “The violence and destruction doesn’t reflect my son or my family.” These are the words of a mom, a mother whose son had just been shot seven times in front of his children, badly injured, paralyzed, perhaps permanently. And even as she seeks justice for her son, she’s pleading for an end to the violence and for this nation to heal. She said she was praying for her son. Then she said something to me that that surprised me. She said she was praying for all police officers.

Not quite. Searching the internet yields things they tend to
have in common with each other...far more than atheists'
singular shared trait of non-belief in gods.
Ref...
Antifa: What is it and what does the movement want?

Antifa also acts in a group manner, & this is what makes
them identifiable. To claim they've no ideology is a non
sequitur.

It's odd to say that they aren't identifiable, yet here we
are discussing them.

How many of these people would you identify as Antifa? All of them, or only those wearing Rose City hoodies?

More for you to agree with:
It’s no secret that the far-left are mentally deranged zombies processing their petty existences through a cluster**** hive-mind. We’ve seen evidence of this through their unabashed normalisation of gender fluidity, and the way they froth at the mouths during protests like horny hounds wanting to cannibalise their own kind. Now we have new evidence to suggest the further degradation of the left wing mentality, something altogether insidious and sly: the rising trend of destroying historical monuments. You’ve seen the chaos in Charlottesville and read the steady stream of headlines suggesting which historical statues should be torn asunder next. These Bolshevik ******** don’t want these monuments destroyed because of some crusade to right the wrongs of the past. They want to delete these marble memoirs from the pages of history so they can rewrite it to fit their hysterical agenda. Now that is real Hitler tier bull****. One of the trademarks of pure fascism. In this current year, in this current society of “progressive” thought we have opted to give a platform to cartels of demented dolts. I say shame on the media for pedalling this hogwash and allowing it to reach a wider audience. Media outlets like the BBC and the Guardian are providers of emotional disorder in the United Kingdom, and the western world.

I would love to see this kind of rhetoric used against police violence or the violence of the state. So far, when I see talk like this, it reads to me less as "we want peace and love and tolerance" and more "we want to own the monopoly on violence, because when we do it - or it happens as a result of the systems we operate - it is fine, but when others do it we label them criminals".

And I also think it's pretty gross for Biden to evoke MLK in condemnation of rioters. MLK strongly supported peaceful protest and denounced rioting, yes, but he would be utterly disgusted by people condemning rioters as merely "criminals" that should be "prosecuted". His perspective on rioting and looting was far more nuanced, as he understood that riots and looting are the result of systemic injustice, and was very keen to draw a moral line between violence against property and violence against people, and was mystified by attempts to draw equivalence between them.

I think it's shameful for Biden to evoke MLK in the middle of a sentiment that MLK would actually find reductive and deplorable.

You’re missing the context of what Biden said. Read the link I posted which contains his full speech. It wasn’t just a speech about condemning violent riots that was only one part of it. He started by condemning police brutality. He has been forcefully condemning police brutality, talking to the families of the victims for a while and praising BLM.

We should be able to walk and chew gum. Police brutality bad. Peaceful protests good. Riots bad. Right wing violence bad.

One candidate gets this. The other does not.

I know that was hard for you to say. This is good progress - proud of you bud! ;)
No difficulty.
Perhaps you imagine that I'm your counterpart, ie,
wedded to a side in the Trump v Biden partisan feud.
No, I don't share your fervent devotion to either.

You said:

“Both Biden & Trump have been weak on opposing violence
across the political spectrum.
If either started properly addressing all the hostility & violence,
they'd earn credit with me.”

This was - yet again - a false equivalence which has been exploded. To see this one only needs eyesight, not fervent devotion.

I commend you on taking the first steps. ;)

They both are weak IMO.
But I'll credit them when they do denounce violence.
Do you ever credit Trump?

Btw, you should look up "false equivalence" to
discover what it really means. One shouldn't
just chant it at every disagreement.

No, what's considered racist is showing up to beat up People of Color.

You know, the things these men actually do.
They may have racist members but from their manifesto they aren't racist. They are not white supremacists, they are western supremacists.

You say both are weak (as is your custom) and yet, both candidates are on record. Their responses on this topic up to this point have clearly been different.

He didn't just say "riots bad". He specifically said that rioters and looters should be treated as criminals, with no real consideration for why they are rioting and looting.

And condemning police brutality is not the same thing as condemning police violence. If he truly supported BLM and opposing police violence, he would support defunding efforts.

One candidate gets this. The other does not.
Both are pretty bad. Biden is just more capable than Trump of standing up to fascists, which is the absolute bare minimum I tend to expect of a human being. I just find this particular quote in which he evokes MLK while condemning rioters to be hugely hypocritical.

That being said, I think you make an airtight point about the false equivalence between Trump and Biden. It's fairly obvious that Biden is more consistent than Trump with regards to condemnation of violence on both left and right, I just disagree with the specifics of Biden's statements.
